Hello just wondering if anyone has thought about some os resolutions.
I fell off the os wagon this year and intend to try harder in 2016.
I have some ideas but looking for more inspiration from you lovely people.
So far I will be...
Menu planning and making a list
Using up what we have before buying more
Making packed lunches for kids instead of paying for school dinners
Stop buying convenient snacks for the kids schoolbags and doing home baking/refilling water bottles.
Will add more as I think of things but looking forward to reading what you are resolving to do in 2016

Ooh good idea - I will have a think
One is to get DS (16) cooking dinners, it will be OS for him in the long run to learn. he is resisting the idea, but i think when he starts he will get very interested in it.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Mine are:
take better care of myself - I don't do this and it shows; always too busy looking after everyone else.
save the extra money I get from work due to a recent pay rise and at the end of next year pay off either all of my car finance or a chunk of my Masters loan (they charge you to pay off the balance so I'm going to call up and pay a chunk off but leave the equivalent of a couple of month's payments to avoid the charges)
save extra money towards next Christmas - my budget is based on what I get without my expenses from work yet I always manage to spend them! My Plan is not to spend them and save them instead as they vary between £40 and £100 each month - half will go in to our little ones piggy bank and half in to the Christmas fund
Finally I'm planning on only shopping once a week (Monday's as that's my day off) and anything else will have to wait until the following week. This will stop my impulse spending and also my snacking at work!************************************

I resolve to not make any resolutions;)
I made that resolution about 20 years ago, and I've stuck to it ever since :rotfl: It's the only one I have ever managed to stick to.
I have on occasion set myself a new year challenge. One was to see how long I could go without eating crisps and I managed until about September when I accidentally ate one without thinking.
I think a challenge is more positive than a resolution because resolutions are usually about forcing yourself to do/not do something and you feel bad when they fail.0 -

I think Justamum has got a brilliant idea there, and challenges seem to work better than resolutions.
My challenges hopefully will be
clear the clutter that has accumulated over this year, especially with paper work etc
try and use up the seemingly endless food mountain thats in my cupboards
Try to ration my actual time out a bit more as I seem to be rushing around like a headless chicken at times.I definitely need more 'stand and stare ' moments
I'm pretty good at saving cash and making money streetch so thats not a big challenge to me.
I am definitely going to resolve these issues in 2016 ,fingers crossed:):)

De-cluttered my cutlery drawer I can't believe how many daft gadgets were in there that have been bought or given to me over the years. Some of which I can't even remember what they are for !!!.
I have a plastic bit of junk that I haven't a clue what it does it looks like a spoon with the wide handle and the spoon bit is round and its shaped with a hinge like a pair of nut crackers God know what it does but its nestling in the bag to go to the chazzer tomorrow:):)
