I feel better than I did, I had a mini melt down in January as I felt the situation with the fees was helpless and beyond me, just goes to show you can do anything if you really think outside the box and focus
It's not helped that for the past 3 months it has been a 5am start to 11pm finish most of the week......................but I am off this xmas and sooooooo looking forward to itDebt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -
And you've just reminded me that once I retire, I'll be able to shop around for home and contents insurance too! I stick with a very few suppliers because not only am I self employed, I've got clients coming into the house - the bump-up for some can be horrendous. Not too bad with my current one.
Right. Off to find my keys.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Just had an exciting text from Vanquis, funny how they are dieing to offer me a pre-approved card right just before Christmas..........................................and the punch line is 39.9%
They don't beat MBN* who upped my rate from 13.5% to 47% in the space of 4 years :eek::eek:Debt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -
Day 9
Well I canny put it off any longer, not sure where my head is because I love making plans but making plans for this seems somehow daunting, different and deep down there is a bigger sense of failure if I don't achieve my goals.
I think that is where failure begins really, not in the act of not achieving your goal but of holding yourself back from saying.............yes I am going to do this, it will work.
So IT WILL WORK, there I have shouted it from the roof tops.
I have looked at my budget and here is the plan for next year
1. Join MFW 2016 and pledge to pay off £4,800.......say it quickly (I did dilly dally with £2,000 then £2,500 etc but I really want to pay off an additional years mortgage if I'm honest)
2. Build an EF of £3,200
3. Save 1% of all income for our retirement (this will increase to 2% in 2017)
4. Budget £30/mnth for clothing, £30/mnth for car maintenance, £15/mnth in lieu of pet insurance and £30/mnth for next christmas
5. Sell old stuff on Fleaby to fund house renovations
6. Renovate bathroom and spare bedroom
Quick post it before I chicken out :TDebt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -
The money sounds doable! Budgetting hard will do it
so now its about putting these figures into a projected budget and seeing what you have to alter on your existing SOA
I agree with you about where failure starts - definitely - so this is great! Erm, tell me that MBN* card is gone?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I have and it is all doable, just need to be strict
There were two MBN* cards both went from sub 15% to over 40% in the end, at that point I told them to stop taking p*ss
MBN*1 was £4857 now £2306
MBN*2 was £5776 now £2778............both 0%
Interest if I remember was about £150 a month each, that was my first MSE  momentDebt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -
