Best paying part time careers

Hi all I am looking at re training part time for a new career. I need something part time as I have 4 children. I thought of accountancy and am looking into the OU course and hoping to get a loan for the fees. Then I thought if I'm going to retrain I might as well train in the best paid part time career possible. Please could you tell me what you do that's part time and the hourly salary and if it's flexible? Thanks

Stripping. I very much doubt you'll find a part time job better paid than that, especially without experience.

How about working in a school?

Would be flexible hours which would really suit around the kids and the holidays?

Plenty of different roles, from in class support, TA, HLTA to any number of admin, finance or HR roles.

You get part time jobs, but you don't really get a part time career.
If you were alread an Accountant and were working somewhere, they may let you go part time. But for a 'job' in a senior poition you're more likely be expected to work more than full time.

Stripping lol i remember pharmacists and optometrist earning a decent part time wage..... I used to do recruitment consulting for them. If I'm going to do a uni course for accountancy I thought why not shoot higher and earn the most for my part time hours. Schools are a good suggestion. I'm just trying to see what higher paid options are available on a part time basis. I don't want to limit myself I'm a believer that most people can do most jobs if they apply themselves.....other than stripping. I will look into MP didn't consider that.

Despite what some might think MP's work long hours and they usually have experience in business or a profession behind them. It is definitely not a family friendly job.

SailorSam is right, there are few careers that will allow you to start on a part time basis. But by the time you've got your degree surely your children will be at school so you'll be able to work full time?

If you find me a (realistic) part time job that pays more than stripping I'll take my suggestion back. You did ask for the best paid part time job after all. ;)

I'd expect even an average stripper to be earning £50ph+ so let that be a starting point.

Pharmacy is a very hard degree and of course you have to have the correct A levels to be accepted. Most people who have a career which is part time started off full time and then cut back, it rarely works the other way. Teaching may be a good option, you can work part time or do supply work

Surely it is not just about few £££ extra you might earn, but what you actually want to do? Even with 4 children, you won't need to be part-time forever. Why not aspire for a career you would enjoy with the knowledge that one day, you will be able to work full-time and earn a decent income?

I know a few people that work in the sex industry and its fringes, and few make anywhere near £50 an hour! Those that do are doing far more than taking their clothes off ;)
