Sorry to hear that people are taking the uplift of restrictions too far and are causing you issues. Must be infuriating for you.
I'm so excited about your kitchen, it sound like that you are going to get an amazing kitchen. I can't blame you for being impatient, it's hard to wait for the image in your head to become reality!
I wish I lived anywhere near you, we (as a family) have been looking to get a kitten or young cat and those kittens are gorgeous!5 -
To be honest I would think that campervans may be on the pleasanter side of some visitors. They may well have their own facilities! The disgusting tales of what has had to be cleared up from some beaches & parks defies imagination. Discarded underwear not being the worst. I would never have thought this could happen in this country.

I think the point I was making more on lockdown being over and visitors back in droves. That being said, we do not have a local campsite and our council have put an order in place.
if I spent 10s of thousand on a vehicle to see the country in I would want to use it to its fullest. Paying VAT/road tax and fuel taxes.. being restricted would annoy me somewhat. I don't look on FB much these days, people do seem to have been litter louts when our local groups have posted pictures which are terrible to see. There was also a discussion which peaked a bit of interest in wild camping, which locally is not allowed. The argument was if you sleep in your van you are not wild camping. If you put a chair out to sit on you are... anyhow, I generally avoid the pages where they all bicker, but I had not heard the term wild camping before.
Thankfully we have only been out on duller days as we are both working subsequently less people are around. This is likely to continue as the weather reports are rubbish.

I think wild camping is what camping used to be before everyone went to campsites and toilets and electricity became a necessity!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

All is busy as per normal. I went to a garden party last night at my work friends. I was Des, as it was quite a way away and I'm still not drinking. We met our work friends new baby, and it was so hard not to cuddle her. We were all very well behaved. Our friend is a pink and glitter 50something... grandma barbie. Her house was like superstarboudoir. They moved on November and she has been rushing through perfecting it since.
I was worried my new purchase of a chandelier would be too fussy.... on balance ( with hers) it is minimalist
Said chandelier was delivered at 9am after I only got in at 01.30. However I was so pleased it arrived... After buying online I did not receive a receipt or confirmation email and I realised I ordered it from France. I hope the electrics are ok, but I'm equally glad I didn't buy from a rogue website. I had a rocky nights sleep (again) I was dreaming of covid, us as a group all got it, we've all been working in the thick of it for months .... good job I don't go out much.
The chandelier was £300 cheaper than the one I nearly bought. I knew we had other things to buy, therefore being less frivolous was necessary. I have looked at thousands of light fittings !!!! OH stripped woodchip off dining ceiling earlier in the week giving him a bad back. He will likely have another next week when he does the kitchen ceiling.
Kitchen needs to be removed by 23rd July to start the 1st and 2nd fit. Fitter is due 3rd August. We are allowing the contractor to come in a few days early as he has a hospital appointment.
I made a small mortgage OP this week, less than a tenner, rounding it down I do need to keep a close eye on my spends as now the "house work" has started again, they can often run away with me. By the time this kitchen and décor has finished we will have spent £40000 on home improvement and items and have £10k of cc debt left. This could mostly be offset with savings we have thankfully.

Sorry SH, I lost a post yesterday. Probably over by about £10k , but maybe they are our comforts. I will have to work it out properly as I've added ladders . plants, paint as well as the biggies.
NG we do live quite simply since OH reduced his income massively years ago. Because the debt is CC it feels more urgent to reduce. When I went to the garden party the other night. I was searching for things to wear. I did have one new top, but most of my disposable income in spent on home and family. DH work shares have doubled in the value we bought them for. They are a 3 year plan. 6 years ago we knew little and invested £100 per month. Cashed them in 3 years ago to support DD1 with her house deposit £5900. We only started £100 again, but increased that year on year. This next amount is a fantastic return. £3600, returns £7400. The downside is OH reduced income but we have maxed these out now so the next 3 years we will have a lump sum annually, or leave for his retirement as his pensions are already cashed in at 50 (as per Martins advice). After him losing a fortune he feels he's contributing rather than taking... thats why he looks after us so much
EDT does that sound too crass? My OH does not like fancy foods .. no indian meals or steak for me. He likes chicken thighs and fishfingers. My (G)daughter(s) eat a lot of tuna pasta. Our food and household goods usually are less than £200 per month. The lock down has been extra kind as we don't waste £100 on a meal/pub out twice a month. So I cook from scratch like a regular SW or WW attendee. We do like our little trips away which again have been curtailed... leading to an early upgrade of the kitchen. Plus those shares... the £ being poor against the dollar has improved the exchange rate from the US company.
I have night brain … talking waffle
