 she did ask me to be midwife !!! Thank good we've dodged that bullet for a bit :o

The hall stairs and landing now look lovely. I still have to get picture rail and the earlier mentioned electrics sorted out (£23 x2 therefore triple cost from standard size :( )

I could do with putting an extra coat of paint on each door, 10 sides. We still need to trim around the hearth (18mnths after new hearth fitted) But really this is it for now :T:T:T . We need a new kitchen and appliances next year. I NEED to save for these and pay down debt. I would also love professionals to come in and clean our sofa now we are not a building site. I have laundered the covers once even though it's not recommended. but the sides look in need.

I've accepted more money has been spent/promised this month than I had hoped. GDs carpet will be £90. We're gifting the £100 to DD2, to fund her driving lessons and test (not her xmas night out with nails and tan ;) ) then it will be token gifts for all 3 girls in our lives making gifts a bit more balanced. (DD1 had her MOT/service to cover her xmas an birthday)

Slight windfall though, OH gets paid 4 weekly (13 pay days). We don't pay into savings from his salary in December, That £300 reallocated to him,DD2 and logs. Working out the household bills, going forward, the next water and council tax is due after his next pay date :j:j:j . I don't want to spend this. It just makes things look healthier :D

DD1 has said we do not need to go to GDs 6th birthday party next weekend as we are both on nights. We will see her on her birthday midweek. It's a relief really. more likely she wants to keep peace as GDs dad will be there.

Last night was my 1st night of the December marathon. Todays sleep was rubbish as next door appear to be drilling hammering and decorating... We cannot complain can we. They had tolerated our disruption well. :o

nearly forgot... road tax came. £0 :T:T:T... glad not to give those gov.uk any more than I have to :D

Night shifts completed until Thursday :D

it's almost time to make our home festive. I say almost as I want OH to get the decs out of the loft. I also want a real tree in the front room again. I will have to shuffle furniture to make it fit. I moved a console table into the alcove a couple of months ago which looks nice, therefore I will have to swap the sofa from the bay to the chair to make room. The chair is too close to the radiator for a real tree :D Our neighbourhood is lit up at night and twinkling. I want to get in on the act :D:D

OH has fitted GDs carpet this am. He's a bit overwhelmed. The bed DD1 wanted him to assemble for GD is a not only a cabin bed, it has a wardrobe and draws. The pieces list from A-Z and he says it has 1500 screws ( I hope he's exaggerating ) . He has warned DD1 he will likely need tomorrow too to complete it. He's holding out well... he didn't sound a bit cross when I spoke to him :rotfl:

Its GDs birthday on Wednesday. I wanted to get one or two little cheaper gifts likely from poundland. We are paying for the carpet much to her distaste (boring.... she will be 6 ! ) I did grab a lego from Lid1 a few weeks ago. … She's got a larger lego set for Xmas.. .she won't be at all impressed. I will grab her a ream of paper for drawing. She's exhausted my supply. DD1 has gone overboard... She thinks she's sorted her debts as they are interest free or delayed payments. I have reminded when her 6 month period ends she will still have them. Unfortunately she's not getting the message. I think she's still holding out for miracle puppies in a few months to take the load off her. I need to grab her a little something extra too.

I received my D3benhams order this am after placing it 7pm Saturday. :T:T:T Bras for DD2 ( 20% off)
I'm waiting for OH trainers to arrive. I would imagine if I'm careful I can get away with £100 spend.

We watched Elizabeth is Missing last night on catchup ( BBC) oh my word , Glenda Jackson is amazing as a woman who has dementia and is searching for her friend. Its very emotive for me. I've woke up crying again this morning .

I've not mentioned my mum for a while, through guilt or shame for not being more involved :( . She was diagnosed with vascular dementia 21/2 years ago and needed full time care. prior to that we were all muddling through. She went from a normal elderly grandma and managing chronic diseases such as heart failure and asthma, to searching for her mum and babies in about 4 months. Because of her rapid decline her life expectancy was only weeks. Anyhow she's been living with a sister who I have no contact with. My sister is quite controlling and we fell out when my dad died 14 years ago. I have many siblings, and there are lots of difficult relationships among us all. My other sister who lives in the middle east sends messages and pictures, but I haven't seen her for 18 months. I know she is looked after well by the sister who is looking after her. I cannot bring myself to go over her doorstep. Middle east sister is due home next week I really hope we can figure something out then, although she was home in the summer we only manged a video call. She not missing me as she somewhere in the 1950s..

Anyhow, she's never far from my thoughts. She never wanted to live with my sister when she was lucid. She knew it would split the family in 2. This really was the better option form a NH. I wanted to use her savings to pay for a night carer as an employee, and some daytime care... then even equity release. But she's still here so her care must be good which is reassuring.

The house renovations have certainly kept me busy. Next year I am hoping to start my MSc. That will definitely diverts my attentions. I have my interview for it next week :)

Bit of a brain dump there x

I did a bit more Christmas shopping yesterday. A new outfit for GD and for me :D I treated myself to a dress from River !sland. £36 , to wear for the interview and the big day. GD is a big 6 today. U+I went to her nativity yesterday and there has been a 2nd performance today. She's on her way now for her present :D

I succumbed to OT tonight as other staff are sick. January's pay will be fabulous :D

Sorry to hear about the situation with your mum, it must be upsetting for you. It sounds like she is lucky to be cared for by your sister and you are happy with the care she is getting which is the main thing. But don't beat yourself up as it very clear from your diary now that you spend all of your time working hard, then coming home to do renovations, as well as taking care of everyone else in the family in the small amounts of free time you do have. I couldn’t do what you do you must be exhausted!

    Take care of yourself :)

Thanks NG, Mum guilt replaced working mother guilt. I was the offspring who was local for both parents an have been involved all of my adult life. I comfort my self that the sister she lives with only came back to the area aged 40. I felt quite emotional last week but put it down to the normal hormone fluctuations... This week though I think It's December :o January will be different.

Work has been so busy. My role is quite specialised, however I can slide over to the general side when needed. With no one in in my team the other night the Qs were very long. I worked my socks off last night and did make a difference :D I've got to do it all again until the early hours of Monday. I'm taking a couple of hours back then, to prepare for my interview.

I did my big Christmas shop yesterday. OHs place of work. He gets 10% staff discount that we rarely use as I shop in Ald1 or l1dl. A couple of times a year he gets double discount. I went in twice as I only use small trolley my 1st 20% off was £32 and then £18... amazing :T:T:T:

DD2 didn't pass her driving test today :( she's quite upbeat... her instructor believes she's been wronged, parallel parking? over a drive and she didn't recognise the kerb. Saved me a fortune as last night for the 1st time she asked if she could go on our car insurance

thanks :D . I've only done a bit of study. Was told it was only to see how many heads we have got, but still, I don't want to be caught out. The overtime the other night wasn't the best idea have had. Tonight I will have a colleague with me to share the load. hopefully I will get an hour or 2s work in.

When I got home this am OH wanted to got Xmas tree shopping. We went a bit further than norm to a nice garden centre rather than market gardens. We picked one really quickly for a change. They didn't have a stand. OH is now chiselling away at the trunk trying to make it fit into an old stand. This is were we have an annual row... He gets fed up, I get fed up. I'm trying to ignore him sighing.

:) My days off have arrived at last.
:) house is blinged up for Christmas
:) Interview was more of a meeting. Start date mid January. :D
:(I'm short on school qualifications. I will have to do Maths and English during the next 3 years too :o my previous degree or masters L7? modules not enough. some kind of module rather than gcse thank goodness
:( DD2 wants me to pick her up so she doesn't walk 10 minutes from the station
:( OH trainers have gone missing from Debnh@ms order
:) said will send new pair
:) I have a make your own xmas jumper kit from £land a couple of years ago. GD needs a xmas jumper for Wednesday

We didn't attend Gds birthday party as (ex)bF was going. plus we were both on nights. DD1 was so stressed Saturday that OH got up early (he wasn't working last night) to help make food. They made so much that DD1 ended up taking leftovers to the next town's homeless shelter. Then GDs daddy (ex)bf, didn't turn up GGRRR. I can't wait for him to get a girlfriend and stay out of DD1 world..

We were going to go out this pm, but decided to stay in and save money. DD1 2nd hand washer we bought her in January has broken. She on her way back with extra washing :(
