Payment of !!!!!!

Hi
Hubby and I are getting ready to make payments on the !!!!!! we have negotiated. We have read that it is better if a third party makes the payment on our behalf. Can anyone explain why this is and is it a problem if we make the payment ourselves.
Many thanks
:)

No problems at all doing it yourself, don't know where you read about the 3rd party doing it.
One thing you must ensure, before you pay a single penny, you must have, in writing, something from the creditor stating that your offer will be accepted in full settlement of the account, and neither they, nor there agents, will pursue you for the remaining balance.

I cannot stress how important this is, because if you don't have this, then the creditor can, quite lawfully, sell on the remaining balance, and before you know it, some bottom feeder DCA is hassling you again.

I can't give chapter and verse on this but it is held to be true, as ND say:
A friend or relative may be able to give you the money to make the payment. This helps your agreement to be more legally binding if the creditor accepts the money from a third party.

In practice it should make no difference
