Employer's PAYE Tax reference

Hi,
I am filing my tax return, the last thing I need to do is fill in some 'employment' details....
They are after a 'Employer's PAYE reference'.....
I read that this is found on P45's and P60's.....though I have neither....
Though I found out what this PAYE reference looks like and scanned through some documents I have....
Every year HMRC send me a letter stating what my Tax Code for the year is. On this letter it states the name of the company I work for in the body text. Next to the Date and my National Insurance number there is a 'Tax Reference'......
Is this it? Is this the 'Employer's PAYE tax reference' I am in need of?
1. It says 'Tax Reference'
2. The format is correct: 3 numbers/letter, letter, 5 numbers. Example: 111/AA11111
3. The document notes my employer.
So everything indicates this is the 'Employer's PAYE tax reference' (as it is called in the tax return).
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.

The format you have stated is correct it does need to be three numbers then / followed by numbers and/or letters (could be one or more, doesn't need to be 5).
Seems unusual that it isn't on your P60.
You could always call the tax office and double check it with them if you don't think it is correct.
I mean't that I don't have a P60 or a P45.
I will phone up HMRC in a bit and check with them.
