Payplan won't send on new DMP budget

I am going 'round in circles with Payplan at the moment. Have been in a DMP with them for 5 years and have been contacted to do an annual review. I sent them the updated budget over a week ago, but they currently have no phone appts available to conduct the review (even though I have made it clear I have no interest in any other debt solutions and do to wish to take out insurance etc via them).
They have said they will only send my previous year's budget out to creditors and I may receive increased contact from the creditors due to this, even though it is not my fault.
Anyway to get Payplan to send the new budget out? I messaged my Case Officer again last night explaining all of this and asking her to confirm in writing that they were withholding my updated budget and offer (increase of over £80 a month).
I've got 20 months left on it, should I just take it over from Payplan? Or try CAP?

You can do whatever you want to do, your DMP is an informal agreement, why don't you simply take it over, and save yourself the hassle ?
On the whole, people seem pleased with pay plan, they operate slightly differently from stepchange, there has been some issues with them trying to sell you "extras", but as far as I was aware, they have now stopped this, however, it seems to be there procedures which are causing you problems here.

I was very grateful and pleased with PayPlan but this year ahead of my financial review they said they could no longer accept my budget emailed to them (they wanted to speak directly), they wanted copies of wage slips, bank statements, etc. They said it was due to changes in regulations. When I questioned the changes in regulations and asked for documentation on the changes they ignored my message. So I sent another one a couple of weeks later and they came back and said regulations havent changed and there was nothing written about the way they conducted their business. So, as I was in the middle of negotiating F&F with my creditors, I decided to cancel my DMP and deal direct with them which so far has worked out quite well.0

Hi
As the others have said, self-negotiating is completely viable, or you could try Stepchange if you’d still prefer a free DMP.

Thank you for your replies. HaydenB - what did you have to send to your creditors with your amended budget and going it alone? I am slowly extrapolating all the creditor info from my Payplan account so I can write to my creditors asking for an updated balance from each - this wouldn't be breaking the terms of my DMP would it?
Whilst I may wish to leave Payplan I am not sure I want them to dump me!
Thanks again
Rebecca
PS - have only at most 20 months left if that makes any difference?:eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20170 -
You can make a formal complaint under
https://www.payplan.com/legal/complaints-procedure/
saying what you are complaining about, and what you require that they do to put in right.
Emphasising that it's a formal complaint, that you will be taking to the FOS if it is not resolved to your satisfaction.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I didnt send them my revised budget as they wouldnt accept it by email - instead they wanted to spend half an hour on the phone discussing whilst also receiving copies of wage slips, bank statements, etc.
When I decided to go it alone I just sent them a message saying I was grateful for their help but wanted to deal directly with my creditors from now. They were fine and there were no issues.0 -
Thanks HaydenB - sorry but were your creditors just happy with the budget or did they want all the extra gubbins that Payplan asked for?]
Cheers

The free debt charities exist to help people who, for whatever reason, can't help themselves, we have all been there I'm sure, but when you have had some time and experience under your belt, it makes sence to go self managed, as it gives you back control of the situation.
You are then in a better position should you wish to settle some or all of your accounts, without the involvement of a 3rd party.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I'm still with them but largely ignore them. Doing the annual review seems to set off a whole load of calls selling insurance or trying to get you to switch this and that. I didn't bother with the review this year and in the end they just sent in last years. It's all a bit of a farce anyway. Have thought of going self managed but until my defaults fall off or I come into some money, nothing much is going to change for me. I rarely even think about it any more. Life is too short to worry about a few unsecured debts.0

Beck, happy just with the budget that I had done. It had meant they were getting slightly more back each month than the last few years but didnt ask for anything further.0
