The winner and a guest will spend three nights, on a half-board basis, at Hotel Endsleigh, Olga Polizzi’s luxurious country-house hotel on the edge of Dartmoor, in Devon. Overlooking the River Tamar and set in 108 acres of gardens and woodland, the hotel occupies a grade I listed hunting and fishing lodge, built for the Duke of Bedford in the early 19th century. There are just 17 rooms and suites, filled with elegant furniture, interesting art and richly patterned fabrics. Dinner is served in a grand, wood-panelled room or outside on the terrace, and the menu specialises in local flavours, including venison, wood pigeon, mackerel and Devon Blue cheese.
The prize must be taken between September 27, 2015, and March 24, 2016, subject to availability and excluding bank holidays, Valentine’s weekend and the period December 19 to January 3.
