Will my debt ever affect my beautiful girlfriend? please advise

Hi all
I am currently around 15k in debt.
I have been sat on it for around 2 years and done nothing about it.
However, I am with an amazing girlfriend and she is inspiring me to get my situation sorted out.
I am currently requesting my credit files and potentially I will be applying for a debt relief order / bankruptcy.
However, my girlfriend is doing a lot better than I am financially, and she wants to buy a flat for us to live in together.
This would make me extremely happy. However, I am too paranoid to move in with her incase my debt would ever affect her in any way shape or form.
At the moment, I get 100 letters a day to my moms house, threatening that baliff's are going to come round etc. this has been the case for 2 years, I presume they never follow through with the threat as they know I have £0.00 recurring
However, if I move in with my girlfriend and notify the council etc. , I presume all the threat's from my creditor's would then be delivered to her address - could the baliff's potentially ever turn up to her flat and threaten her + her stuff, based on me being in debt and me living with her?
What about if I enter a DEBT RELIEF ORDER or apply for bankruptcy? Could this in any way affect her or her flat?
I know I am probably being paranoid, but honestly I just could not live with myself if it did

It will only affect her if you get joint accounts with a bank.
I take it you will find it hard to get credit for a period of time if you go bankrupt ?
You thought of contacting a debt charity and getting help, can even ask them your questions ?0 -
100 letters a day??????0

As above ring Stepchange, National Debt Line or Christians Against Poverty. They will give you fabulous free advice.
Why so you have £0.00 recurring? Do you work?£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000
LBM 28/1/15 total debt - [STRIKE]£23,410[/STRIKE] 24/3/16 total debt - £7,298

I'd just crack on with the DRO if I were you.
Get some proper advice first, if you havent already, National Debtline is a good place to start.
You, and you alone, are affected by debts in your own name, if you moved in together, and registered on the electoral role, or for council tax, at that address, then yes, letters would come to you there.
If you enter a DRO, then all creditor contact is stopped, you make no Payments, and after 12 months, your debts are written off.
Sooner you start, sooner it will be over.
I suspect the "100 letters a day" line, was written with a touch of sarcasm ☺️I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Does your girlfriend know about the DRO and or bankruptcy you are considering?
(I say this as it is not something I'd enjoy telling any future partner about let alone anyone else on a must know and trust me 3 years in, I find myself digging up the past quite frequently as there is no official guidance if someone under a debt relief order is same as bankruptcy, it's one thing I think should change so I really don't know if one is better over the other)
Here's the latest I've had (to do with DRO's)
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/improved-help-for-people-struggling-with-problem-debt
It could be worse, you could be waiting for a solicitor to tell one half of your in the dark family having paid a check fee of £4.00 that you are indeed 'bankrupt' when life really slaps you back years later, have you problems? no! not really if the girlfriend knows and 'understands' hence my ask if knows as it IS a long 6 years during which a lot can obviously happen so it makes no odds which you go for.
Bailiff's do not happen unless you have been to court, perhaps if you see past the scare mongering you may find there are other options, which may not be as tragic.
The plus side of a DRO is it has allowed me not to need benefits to it's full entirety! or apparently not worry when not paid properly so there we go, it's the only something to be proud of I guess, so I'll try not to be so negative  sorry to harp on you need to look into the future if you can. Forget. The sooner you start, sooner it will be over. Tell as many of your loved ones, not just girlfriend, as you can and listen to what they would recommend.0 -
