I get the impression Eccleston was basically bullied out of the role.0

Really? That is a terrible!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

You notice he chose not to take part in the anniversary episode where David Tennant and Tom Baker did?0

Tennant & Piper were the perfect pair for me! The Bad Wolf Bay scene made me cry and still has me welling up even now
I loved Ecclestone in the role and didn't think that Tennant could better it - but loved him in it - the humour was fab - and the chemistry between him and his co-stars was great
I didn't ever really warm to Matt Smith - nor to Capaldi as yetI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Another who never warmed to Matt Smith and gave up watching altogether mid his season, tried Capaldi once and gave up on him too.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

I loved Ecclestone as Dr Who, and I liked Tennant at first.
But I stopped watching for ages because I couldn't put up with Billie Piper and all the 'mush'
I started watching again when Billie Piper went, but it all seems so convoluted, and most of the time i just don't care about what happens.
Which is quite sad for a a person who's watched from the first episode (even though I was only 3)Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
I've just read all the Dr Who comments out to DD and DS - their views below:
Russell T Davies - good linking between episodes and excellent story lines. Catherine Tate was fab.
Conditions and timings forced Ecclestone to leave. He put his foot down and said no - time pressures were ridiculous to complete episodes.
Steve Moffatt is good at scary but story lines don't flow.
We feel Capaldi works because we look on him as father/grandfather rather than any other relationship.
I have to take my glasses off if it gets too scary
