FTB Barclay's approval time frame

Hello there.

So, my girlfriend and I have been waiting to hear back on a mortgage offer for about a month now. Our advisor was on holiday for a week and her replacement told us last week that we had basically been approved and were just waiting for the valuation.

Now the underwriter has been looking at an very old mobile phone account which had some late payments on it from when I was a poor ol' student. I managed to get a document proving that I wasn't in arrears and the account was cleared.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but we're a bit annoyed about being told we've got it (or there about) to now having to wait a few more days until we get an answer. Has anyone any advice or experience with this – we're sort of stuck between thinking we're not getting it and telling our family and friends we have. It's been all sorts of stressful!

How long ago was this and how many late payments are showing are they 1's 2's 3's etc

have you checked your credit file?

What's % deposit do you have - all of these things will be considered by the underwriter & lots more too.
