Lender 'Demographic'

Hi All,
I know that some lenders have a 'Demographic' and that you must fit a certain profile for them lend to you.
I am specifically enquiring about HSBC (but happy for you to give me demographic data for other lenders too). Are there any employees on here of HSBC or mortgage advisors that can tell me what HSBC's 'Demographic' or 'Profile' is? What is their ideal mortgage customer? Do they prefer couples/single people/families over another? Do they prefer a certain deposit percentage etc.?
Anything you can tell me would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.

lenders have different demographics. Literally there are thousands of combinations of what fits and what doesn't. Engage a broker if you are unsure. Some lenders may fit your profile but may drag out the process. If you are a difficult case Lender X may suit but it you want it done quickly then Lender Y may be best.0

Not sure demographic is the right word.
Your 'demographic' is only relevant to a lender in so much as is affects your affordability.I am a Mortgage Broker

I have no first hand experience with HSBC but I get the impression HSBC cherry pick who they want. So that could be low loan to values, very high incomes, no negative markers and possibly people they can cross sell investments and things to.
Im not sure whether thats still the case but it appeared to be around 18 months ago.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
