Hi Guys,
I am discharged as of today - woohoo! I can't put the feeling into words - feels like a massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum (Fermi and Alastairq to name but two, although there have been many others) for all their help. I've been generally a quiet lurker on here for the most part, educating myself on the whole process for almost a year before I even went BR. Without the knowledge contained here I don't think I would have plucked up the courage to go ahead with it, and I definitely would have struggled over the last twelve months.
For anyone who is considering going BR, once you have taken proper advice and accept that it is the best way forward for you, I can only say one thing - do it! I lived in denial for a long time and didn't want to admit to myself that there was no other way out. It's not an easy thing to do, but it is easier than dealing with all the worrying that rising debt causes. The feeling of relief at no longer owing anyone a penny and being given the chance to start again is fantastic. I know this will always be on record, and that it will be on my credit file for the next 5 years, but so what. I can live with that.
No doubt I will still have plenty of questions for this forum once I start cleaning up my credit file in a month or two's time but for now I'm going to just relax and enjoy the moment.
Thanks again everyone,
BDA

Fab news! It is a huge relief, I agree. Chill time for a few months now before clean up time. Enjoy it!
Have you printed off several copies of your discharge? You may need themSPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
SPC 9 (2016) #485 TOTAL £84
SPC 10 (2017) # 485 TOTAL: £464.80
SPC 11 (2018) #4850 -
Thanks Owlet! I'm not able to print them off as I'm in Northern Ireland and we can't do that. The OR is sending me a letter with confirmation of my discharge though so I'll just make a few copies of that when it arrives.0

Wonderful news, it must be such a massive relief."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety". - Benjamin Franklin0

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Hopefully I can now be of use to others in the same way that everyone on here has been of use to me.0
