I notice Resolver's rep hasn't responded to boneofo's post yet - perhaps they haven't seen it yet?

(So bumping this thread should bring it to their attention, right?)

The resolver App and Webpage has enabled me to keep a record of emails and responses in one location. Yes, I could have opened a folder in my inbox, but when I escalated the problem through Resolver my email went to the Customer Services Manager instead of just a representative. This provided a single point of contact rather than the 7 reps who had up to that point dealt with the enquiry.
If it had needed to go higher Resolver would have sent me a email reminder and also emailled it to the higher level.

I was originally offered a gift voucher, approx 20% of the order value, due to the problems that had occured, which was not accepted and the final result was a refund of over 75% of the original purchase price as they continued to make errors with the order.

Thanks MSE and Resolver, a very useful tool and one that I hopefully won't need again........

I took a look at the Resolver website.

All the feedback from the customers on the site seems to imply that they think they somehow got a quicker result with their complaint by using Resolver or got 'compo' as a result of using Resolver, instead complaining directly to the company.

I think maybe Resolver works for people who are not confident about writing letters and need a hand holding service throughout the process, or serial complainers who need want a central point to keep tabs of their all their complaints.

But for others, surely it's easy enough to go to a company's web site, look up their complaints procedure and then follow the instructions.

Is there real evidence that using Resolver gives an enhanced outcome to the complaint?

  • I used Resolver on behalf of my daughter and her 2 children who had a flight cancellation on her flight from LHR to Perth via Doha with Qatar airlines. The LHR to Doha was cancelled, they put them up in a hotel for the night and tried to rearrange flight for them. Eventually she arrived in Perth WA after a delay of 24 hrs.
I used Resolver on 12th Jan 2016 and on 23rd January 2016 she received a cheque for £1380 (the equivalent of €1800).
She and I are delighted of course!
There are a couple of things that might need explaining or tweaking on the Resolver site:
    1. Can you alter the date for escalation of the case?
    2. Can you cancel the process after a successful conclusion?

Thank you MSE for this, we found it easy and great to use.

    Hi there
I really hope you can offer me some advice with a big problem i am having with my neighbours, as i'm at the end of my tether !
Between the back of our house and the house opposite there is an access road / path.
Opposite have been parking there for many years ( which i don't have any issue with).
As roadside parking is becoming increasingly difficult, and my husband works unusual hrs , usually returning home in the middle of the night,he often has trouble parking.
With this in mind we took the decision to create a parking space in our back garden. We worked out that if opposite parked just 2 feet further forward we would be able to get in ( with a couple of shunts !) This is what was happening. Though we don't use it all the time, access is needed in case we do need to park there.
Opposite have always been quite un-coperative and unfriendly but this arrangement worked until last week when their grand-daughter and her boyfriend ( who also live in the property ) bought a car.
They immediately started parking in the space that is our access.
I have very politely asked them not to block our access to which they were very hostile.and eventually they were very ambiguous with their answer saying they wouldn't be parked there that night.
Since then they have blocked our access at least 4 times.
I basically want to know do we have any right to have access to the back of our property, and can they legally block our access ?
I'm very sorry for the long post, but have tried to give as much info as possible..
I really hope you can give me some guidance on this matter.
    Thank you in advance.
