Why bother having T & C's ?

....if the Judging of a Competition completely ignores them ?
Some may call this rant sour grapes but 3 recent "Judged" Comps prove my point.
Lloyds Twitter Comp. "Entries must be in a set format"....the Winner's wasn't
6 Word Story Competition. Since when is “I’m a hero" 3 words ?
Center Parcs Comp. 50 word max per entry. Apparently that rule didn't apply to 2 of the winners. (81 words is ok it seems) One winner couldn't even spell the name of the park correctly...yet still won !!
It's hard enough trying to win at the best of times, but when the Judges ignore their own T & C's, what chance have we got ?

Read one today:
'Nobody won last week's freebie Friday competition. Why? We didn't think any of the answers were inspiring enough. So we're running it again this week.'
Yeah - because I bet you actually read all answers and decided that. So you 'ran' a comp - took a bunch of likes - then ditched it and went again.0 -
The winning entry from the six word story was:"I’m a hero!" "Was…" corrected Death0

Actually, I think that's a great entry. I got a chill down my spine reading it.
Blu XI am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!
When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.0 -
I agree it's (oops) a great entry, and a worthy winner for the content. However, contractions to me should count as 2 words as that is their actual meaning. Otherwise, you might as well say "it's good there's contractions isn't there" when the purpose is to shorten 9 into 6.0

Generally they count as one word and various websites suggest using them if you need to reduce a word count (or not to use them if you are for example a translator paid by the word).
("it's good there's contractions isn't there" could count as 6 words not 9 and it would be the judges call if the T&Cs were not explicit on how they would count them)0
