They used to have a restriction of 6 special offer items only for any single purchase. Well, according to the cashier I had today in Bolton, that rule seems to have gone so you can stock up with as much as you want. I've now got a loft full of 6 months supply.
If you haven't got a bread machine I thoroughly recommend getting one - they are brilliant! You bung in the ingredients, set the timer and wake up to the smell of lovely fresh bread in the morning! I've got a top of the range Panasonic SD - 253. I've had cheaper ones in the past put I've found them to be a false economy.
One of the advantages of having one is you also avoid all the additives (and cr*p) that they put in our bread nowadays. Please read Felicity Lawrence's "Not on the Label" (2004) for a full rundown on the tricks of the trade. She'll also explain why so many of us now have dandruff and other yeast infections!(?)
This is my very 1st posting so please feel free to tell me what rules I've broken, advice etc. I hate anything to do with computers and don't understand all the techno-twaddle written hereabouts.

Regarding the message about the reduction in price of granary flour at Tesco and bread machines - I have also recently bought several bags of this flour and used it quite successfully in my bread machine, however, I only use the dough making facility, it takes the stress out of making bread which I think is why so many people don't bother to do it, as it is time consuming and if like me you have a large hungry family it would be a never ending process.
The ingredients is quite simply placed into the mixing pan altogether, the setting chosen (always the same one for dough) and I return about 2 hours later to quickly knead (2 - 3 mins) shape and bake on a lower heat than usually advised, allowing bread to prove and bake without burning.
The advantage to this, apart from time saving, is that any recipe can be used, not just those suitable for a breadmaker, and more interesting results can be achieved. We often have chelsea buns, cheese topped rolls or just very large loaves which cannot be baked in the breadmaker.
It's a very versatile machine! My Mother-in-law bought it for me and I use it almost daily.
Does anyone know where I can buy very large bags of bread flour? I do have a very large family!0 -
