I agree with this too, I did my own spreadsheet with 3 expenditure columns in it.
The first was regular stuff that went out monthly (or annually divided by 12)
The second was one off payments by debit card that month not including supermarkets, i.e. debit card payments to Amazon, cinemas, restaurants and the like
And the 3rd was the total of cash machine withdrawals and debit card payments to supermarkets only.
To my surprise shock and anger I realised I was spending nearly £900 each month just on cash withdrawals and supermarkets! And this of course is the easiest thing to reign in, now going to Lidl and Asda instead of Waitrose and Booths..0
