There was a Red Admiral butterfly at my other house (went for large plant pots, have cleared enough space to start bringing them here). They love next door's buddleia but it isn't out yet. But lots of tete a tete, some hyacinths and large daffs and the tulips are going to bloom soon. Magpies are back in the churchyard and sunshine everywhere. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0

:D sounds lovely.
My dad has an annual butterfly drive, to rescue all of the butterflies that have wintered over in the garage. His count was 51 in the garage this year, 3 in the glass house (rubbish conservatory not attached to house :rotfl:) and 5 in the shed! :T:T
I've also been watching 2 starlings nest building
Yay for your dad rescuing butterflies :j0 -
We did the *local tourist* thing on Monday, and walked a 10 mile trail that starts out virtually on our doorstep and goes through urban areas (with sort of wildlife corridors) and then on through farmland to a local landmark/beauty spot. On the way, we came across a 'nature area' which is relatively newly created (and that we didn't know existed
) and we sat on a bench, having our elevenses cuppa watching the pond in front of us, as it was h e a v i n g with frogs! Considering there were some children around, it all got a bit *adult content*, but it was nature making the most of the spring sunshine.......
As we walked across some farmland all we could hear (apart from the sheep, who were feasting on left over beet in the mud) were loads and loads of skylarks - and as it was so bright and sunny, we saw a fair few of them too, which was an added bonus
Yep, definitely loving the spring weather.
