Sainsbury's loan

What was the difference?
I'm in two minds what to do now as I think 8.7% is high, it's roughly costing £1200 to borrow £8500
Nationwide do a soft search and will quote a rate before you commit (a soft search wont impact on your credit file) worth checking what they will offer.
Some other banks probably also offer a soft search to then show rate.0 -
£400 interest a year on £8500 isn't bad at all. Take it if you can afford it.... and spend spend spend !!"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0

I just tried nationwide and the form gave me an instant decision of.... 9.9% APR!
Looks like 8.7 is probably the best i'm going to get without damaging my credit record eh!
Food for thought, thanks for the help.0 -
Just applied to M&S
only my second application so will stop after that id rate is not better.
After Nationwides soft search I thought I'd check out noddle where I track my credit record and they had a loan section. They recommended me Zopa saying they were best for my loan amount and my circumstances. They also had a 'soft check' which apparently doesn't affect credit record and that came out at... 7% APR... beats the current 8.3%
Does anyone else know of any soft check providers?0 -
I agree 8.7% is high, especially as several credit cards have a long term rate which is lower than this.
I applied for a Sainsbury's loan at 4.0% and was accepted at 8.1%. I then tried Tesco at 4.1% and was accepted at 11.3%!0 -
You seem to be quoting 2 different things. APR % is different from interest rate %.0
