I think it's a new rule, and because you was already a member before the change you have been let off. I asked on live chat, and confirmed it with the T&C's.

Daily Free Games give existing players a chance to win cash or free real money games every day. Every member can play a Daily Free Game as long as they have wagered a minimum of £2 in the last 7 days. Each game runs for 7 days, from Monday to Sunday and your progress carries over each day until the week ends. This means that playing all 7 days makes it more likely you will win.
