  • Not much to really update but thought I would still put things on here.

We've made sure all our cards have direct debits on (some did and some didn't) so at least now everything is covered.

We are going to have a little treat day on the weekend and go for a meal. Having a meal is our big treat as we both don't drink or smoke so both really looking forward to it.

If I've worked it out correctly (will need to check diary that each day has been 'paid') we should have £26 in our savings pot (£2 a day).

Our healthy eating has been going really well and we've been spending very little. Looking forward to our paydays as we've got a plan to pay off some debts and look at how we are doing with anything left over. One of the cards needs to be paid off by 3 month as the 0% finishes.

Anyway, that's all for now, going to get on with some work. X
  • Went to the gym for the first time for the new year.

In a year I've put on 2 stone and want to try and shift it again. We've been healthy eating for a couple of weeks now and feel a lot better about it. I'm hoping to start back on my bike soon and will hopefully be on it a few times a week.

Hopefully I'll be able to get back on track soon and see a difference. At the start of last year I had got back to my normal weight after again putting weight on from the previous year. I'm more determined than ever as I looked in the wardrobe the other day and seen clothes that I would love to wear but not fully comfortable in them at the minute. I don't want to buy any more clothes as I love the things I have (also to save money).

Going to plan a nice walk on the weekend and hopefully a couple of bike rides.

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday. X
  • Hi all,

I've not been very good at updating the diary this week. Feels like it's been a busy week. Looking forward to finishing work on Saturday morning and then off for the weekend.

We've paid off quite a bit so far this month (approx £400 - really pleased about that). I am still looking for more work (part time) and I am continuing my search - hopefully something will come along soon.

We've done some selling online and managed to raise about £45 by the time fees and postage was taken off. Which was good for an expense that popped up (and I had forgot).

2 birthdays for this month - all sorted and presents/cards given.

I'm going to have another little go online with the selling - just need to take some more photos.

I'll be coming up to the end of my course and hopefully will have the exam soon.....fingers crossed!

Hope everyone is having a good week. X
  • Ah, also one more thing to add on the money saving side:

We were paying approx £42 for water each month, however, with advice from the website and forum, we moved to a water meter in November (I think it was then). It has gone down to £25.

Only thing is that I need to ring the water company as I received a letter saying we needed to make a payment, I went online and it said we were in credit.

I thought that it would just be taken off the credit so I left it then we received a reminder - I have since made the payment as I didn't want anything bad to come of it. However, now it is saying that we are in credit by double the amount now. Not sure how this all works so I will ring them tomorrow and try and figure it out. X

Well done on your progress so far.

With regard to ebay selling fees etc. have you looked on Facebook for a local for sale page? I found one for our area recently and have had some success selling stuff on there - I just put 'offers' and people post with what they are prepared to pay and if it gets high enough I contact the highest bidder and sell the item. If it doesn't get as high as I want I just list it on ebay with a reserve and pay the fees. The good thing about the facebook selling is no fees, buyers are local so there is no post and packing to sort out - much easier than ebay.

you need money, this is how: 1. Open your Play Store. 2. Search Type whaff 3.Install and Open App 4. Log (use your FB) 5.Later appeared confirmation code Enter the code AQ90948 then you will get your first cash bonus.(android only)

This is a known scam. It can inflict people with serious money issues, I would avoid this at all costs.

    Hi and thanks :)

This may be a surprise to some, as it is with many people that I meet, but I don't have FB. However, I really do appreciate your comments. There is another site that I am part of which has a selling platform which is free. I may try and post some things on there first and also somewhere like Gumtree - thanks - it's made me have a little think of where else to list :) as I'm not keen on those eBay and PayPal fees :(

Thanks again for reading :) X
  • Well, long time no write!

I haven't been on for a while as I have been quite busy with work and sorting out things in the house.

I'm just about to do a little search on the internet for an hour to see if I can find a part time job to go alongside my job at the moment.

I'm off tomorrow and have made a list of jobs to do in the house and also out and about.

I got some of my pay recently and I have paid off some debt which was a nice feeling. On that note, the plan for our finances has been going nicely and we have stuck to it like glue!

We've been doing well with our eating and we have been out and about on our bikes.

Overall, it's going nicely, now just to find another job! Fingers crossed!

Have a good rest of your Monday everyone! X
