YL - I know a lot of people swear by flylady, and perhaps I did myself in as I cheated as when I started it I did the first two shining sink days but had a peep at a day in the future and (to me) the list seemed extreme and on a schedule of someone who was at home all day? (Which I realise I am but with two kids and a business I don't really know what time I'll have free day to day) Bearing in mind it was just a passing thought and I can't remember what was actually on the list now
I think you will find that YorkshireLass was referring to the MSE Flylady thread on Old Style - you will find them friendly, welcoming and understanding. I think you may be referring to the U.S. Flyladies - who are truly scary.Work is not my Hobby0 -
A slow cooker is something you should definitely invest in.Loving the sunny days!0

I have made a start
I have quite a few bin bags that need to go to the tip. It is rather annoying as they are looking a mess and ds keeps tipping them over and throwing them when he has one of his tantrums, meaning I have to put everything in the bag again grrr I just want them out of the house! Will take them to the tip as soon as I can. I am unable to go whilst I have ds as he is refusing to go and forcing him wont help as he will cause a fuss all the time we are there, a trip to the tip takes ages as you have to go through every bag to make sure you are putting things in the right bin. Once the bags are out of the way I will feel better as it will feel as I have done something.

Just wanted to say hi and good luck.
I am the opposite - I cannot stand mess and clutter and have to have everything clean. I have a form of OCD and although it is not the form where I 'have' to clean, I think having OCD makes me a perfectionst in general and I cannot relax unless everything is just so.
This often means by the time everything is just so, I don't have the energy for cooking or playing with the kids, even though I try my best. So I end up with a lot of takeaways and minimal fun time. I am only posting this to give an alternative view, in the sense I wish I could get into a routine that helps me keeps on top of things but without using all my energy.
I do still have to organise the post xmas mess though so will pop back to see how you're doing.0 -
GRRR I've got to start copying my messages before I press reply I keep losing them...
Going to keep this a short one now.
Well Done IAMT for making a start, how old is your little one? I thought you said he was six but I can't find it now... I may of just pulled that out of my head. Shame about the tip being such an annoyance I'm sure OH just puts the bags straight into household clearance unless their is something particularly for another section, perhaps ...if we can be that organised lol.. you can bag per section rather then doing it whilst your their?
I have to admit it's not going great, but things are getting better. I need to get the routine ...it's ok having a massive clear out and cleaning but without the routine it will just fall back again but I am getting on top of the clothes washing and the kitchen despite being a bit of a state this morning as we've not sorted dish washer out last night is actually looking pretty good...got to tackle the oven over the weekend which will be a big job.
I was quite proud Sunday I made HM roast potatoes and they came out brilliantly AND a new one for me I even froze a few..so if they turn out well I can start doing them in bulk so that should work out slightly cheaper to...plus they are nicer.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Hi guys,
Been a while since I posted here. Things aren't going great ATM, I just seem to have lost all my get up and go? I feel horrible. I have been ill but that's behind me now and tbf I didn't get much sleep last night but overall I just have no motivation, I feel slightly depressed but have no reason to be!!
I feel like my days are just all merging into one again, my business is going better then I thought but means I have less time for other things i.e housework... to be quite honest things are similar to when I first started this thread but no where near as bad as they could be though!
I think I need to start prioritising things as I am getting caught up doing things that are pass times more then what I need to do..I spend most the morning working on and off round the kids and most the afternoon talking to my friends as they have problems ATM and keep asking for advice general chat but find it does eat up a few hours of my day esp when it seems one calls me then the other does!
Need to get myself back on track and get a game plan.... I'm seriously considering if it's my diet perhaps I am lacking something as it can't be normal to feel like this.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Kayalana - do you work from home? because it sounds to me as if you do?0

Kaylana it sounds to me you are just trying to do far too much and its not all achievable......This comes from someone who spends their whole life doing the same!!! I work full time in senior management as well as running my own handcrafted gift business in any spare time and bringing up a young family!.....My business before christmas was ridiculous. It started as a hobby 18 months ago and just suddenly went into overload with little promoting by me. I had hundreds of orders in the run up to Christmas and trying to balance day job, business, sorting my little girl and helping with homewrok, doing school runs etc took its toll. I lived on 3-4 hours sleep a night through December . We luckily have quite a big house but that just meant there was stock and orders in the kitchen, dining room, study, garage (which is my workshop) 4th bedroom and more. It left me good for nothing and it sounds like you are in the same boat. The house was a real mess and i was so tired constantly.
What i would recommend if possible Is taking atleast a full day or two not doing anything with your business (not sure if that is possible) put your out of office on the sit down with a pad and pen and work out what you need to do to make your life and every day less stressful. prioritse whats important and what you need to tackle first.
The biggest hurdle is realising that you can't actually do everything and that it takes time to get everything sorted.
Hope this helps as i feel your pain. Just remember you are only human and none of it is worth making yourself ill over.V 12500 B 8300 N 1900 Oct £51/£1550 -
At the risk of getting shot down, what about a cleaner for a couple of hours a week and concentrate on batch cooking. I know not OS but you need a break.0

I second the idea of a cleaner, i would have one if i had the funds.
I also have a daily list of housey jobs i hope to achieve, i like ticking them off it keeps me focused, for example i will unload the dishwasher or washing machine while the kettle boils.
Never go up or down stairs without carrying something with you to put away.
Hope i haven't came across as too patronising (wasn't my intention)
