I assume the 'mortgage adviser' in the original post was Lloyds in house staff?
Yep, we made an appointment after going in to our local branch asking to speak with someone about mortgages. In his defence (sort of) he held his hands up and admitted his mistake when confronted, though he had to really as we had the original piece of paper with his handwriting on it detailing everything he wrongly told us!0
