There's no way I wouldn't go to the party. The birthday girl means far too much to us, so I shall go and smile and pretend the other person isn't even there!! At least it's helping me refocus on my diet! Might even watch some tutorials on how to put make up on :rotfl:.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Fab idea HI :T.
Ok, so rubbish news first. I put 5lbs on in Yorkshire , so now I need to take that off again on top of the 8 or so stones I already had to lose
.
But on to better things - I've been following an ex-MSE'rs business venture on Facebook. She does runes/tarot cards/angel cards etc and usually does a daily free reading. Anyway, the card I was drawn to the other day turned out to be about money, and how changing your mindset can help. She suggested replacing thoughts of negativity surrounding money (ie not having enough) with positive affirmations such as, “I am grateful I have enough money to pay for everything I need” “Money comes to me easily and effortlessly so I am able to comfortably pay for XXX” Every time your thoughts slip into a negative pattern repeat your affirmation as if it were your mantra. You must really believe what you say, as what we think is what we become.
Whether you believe in this stuff or not, I've been doing it for a few days and today I won £40 :T. Really thankful for that boost.
Carrying on the good fortune - DH's best mate has been paying £500 a year for home insurance . He has been with the same company for 10 years . Got him a deal elsewhere for £100 for the year so he is over the moon.
Feeling happier and more positive today :j XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Well done on the win and helping a friend x0 -
Lucky, you awesome lady! Don't worry, I know exactly how you feel on all accounts! This last year I have been stressing about money so badly and this month I was determined to change my focus onto making money. It has been such a positive thing. I won my work lotto, I've made money at a car boot and I am up to over £30 on surveys.
I can also relate to the self confidence thing. Everytime I have to see someone I haven't seen in a long time, I feel anxious because I am so big now and my dieting just isn't working. I am thinking I need to change my attitude towards the dieting too. I really need to commit to something and stick to it no matter how hard it is. I say to myself that although I haven't lost much weight overall, I haven't given up. I keep trying, even when I am eating badly. I just need to find the best system for me. So positive thinking all round.
You are fabulous and as I have seen quoted in many places "Don't let anyone dull your sparkle!"

Sort of a follow on from the positive attitude re money - I read somewhere that you should see yourself as slim, fit, healthy (whatever it is you are trying to change) and TELL yourself you are like that and the PMA will do the rest!Must use my stash up!0

Morning everyone
Hope you don't mind me gate crashing your thread, but I've read with interest about the weight loss issues that so many people seem to experience. Yo-yo dieting etc. I'm not qualified in any capacity regarding diet etc, but have always had a battle with my weight, and 8 years ago had my light bulb moment (pictures from my bestie's wedding, where I was horrified how fat I was in June 2009). I just knew then I didn't want to be fat anymore, and instead of going to a formal weight loss class and doing their diet, I did my own, 3 small meals a day, proper decent healthy food, and snacks were fruit/diet yogurt, my intention was to loose a bit of weight then when I struggled I'd go to a diet club. I've only ever managed to loose half a stone dieting myself before then need the support of the group/diet club. This time it was different - I just keep going with what worked for me and the stones did come off, I did have days where I didn't eat all the right foods, but I just drew a line under it and got back to it afterwards.
I've come to the conclusion that the diet clubs are great whilst you're following them and the weight does come off, but then if you deviate from it or stop the diet the weight just piles back on. I feel these diets don't teach you to eat smaller portions, as in cold hard reality the only way you'll loose weight is to take in less calories than your use so your body uses it's reserves, therefore you loose weight. Also diets/clubs possibly don't help your metabolism, as with some you're encouraged to eat big portions of a wide array of foods etc.
It took me a while to loose my weight, and I've now been around the same weight now for 5 years - I enjoy my food and certainly am not good all the time. When I'm really tempted to go off the rails, I just remember how much I don't want to be fat any more and also how awful too much bad food now makes me feel.
Sorry this has turned into a long post - but hope it helps someone.
Keep safe and well x
