I've been comping about 7 years and throughout that time I've taken extended breaks - I've just come out of my longest break yet of 12 months! I find that once it gets to be a chore, once I get stressed by the amount I'm not entering then, for me, it's time to have a little break. Throughout my time comping I've been very lucky winning some medium range prizes and lots of smaller ones. Having a break means that I can wobble off and do other things and when I come back I am refreshed and ready for it.
My return this time was prompted by a win from the only comp I have entered in months! One little FB comment on a page I already follow saw me win some art and that's it, I'm back in the game.

I have been comping for about 5 years now, I often think its time to give up. I find taking a break from comping can help.0

I have been doing them since... err, whatever the date is that pops up under my avatar. I go through phases of doing them every day then other times I can go a couple of months only entering a handful.
I'm a stay at home mum too and only have the evenings to enter and sometimes I just can't be bothered to sit on here and do it, especially when I have my uni work (open university) to do. So I just do them when I feel like it and anything I win is a bonus really. xxThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
