When to say enough's enough...

Hi

Hope I'm allowed to post this here. I've been reading posts for a very long time but never had much to say that hasn't already been said so tend to stay quiet!

I've been comping for over two years and i've only ever won football tickets that I had to tell them to re draw as I couldn't go and that was from the barclays advents last year.

I do the click to wins every single day on all of the sites and I enter lots of other competitions but don't seem to get anywhere...

So my question is when do you say ok I'm obviously not very lucky and hang up my comping hat?

I'm not about to stop (live in hope things will change) but I'm interested in what others think

Thanks

  • Hi Squidgey, I've been comping on this site since 2008. I'm retired so have time to enter as many comps as I can. I don't do the Facebook, Twitter etc comps because I don't do social media, nor the daily mag ones.
I was winning on average 10 small comps a year such as £10 New Look voucher, but because more people have got the bug it has diminished to about 4 a year. I have won 3 good prizes such as a Sebo vacuum cleaner, £500 jewellery voucher & 3 nights in Copenhagen plus £500 spends but the big one such as an ITV comp or car has yet to arrive.
I think it's a matter of keep entering if you have the time. Good luck!
  • Hi, thanks for replying its interesting to hear. I'm currently a stay at home mum of two (lost my job when I had the first and havent been back yet) so I get snippets of time through out the day when I enter a few but then I have days where I struggle to get the click to wins done. Maybe I'm better using my time to just enter normal comps instead of the magazine ones

Hhmmm will have to think about that...

I rarely bother with c2w/mag dailies, but for one whole year I did them daily, and in over 4 years not won anything off them.
Take a break puzzles 4 and 1/2 years nothing.
Puzzler 4 and 1/2 years nothing.
Yet I have had some fab wins from all the other posted comps.
Not this year( see Sig) but previous years I have done well.

I won't quit yet but if next year is as bad then I will take a year off.
    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥

it will only get worse as more and more people enter them as a way to make money

there will be new apps and ways of entering soon anyway (pinterest/instagram) are becoming more popular, as long as people don't keep wanting damned selfies then i'm fine

I gave up the CTWs as i never won on them. I've definitely done best on the Mag Dailies.

Wonder if you are thinking of the mag dailies rather than C2Ws as the C2Ws have only been going about a year and quite a few sites started them less than 6 months ago.

My best wins this year have been from radio stations.
  • Well ive definitely done the ctw's since they started and have added to the list as more have done them but they take an age for me to do (rubbish internet speed)

I wont be stopping any time soon as I seem to be addicted to trying to win! I dread to think what i'd be like if I actually won somthing!! But its lovely to see people winning on the site and id like to give my thanks to all who post and share competitions and for now I will have to keep reading the i won thread for inspiration....

I only do the mag dailies and CTWs if I have time after all other competitions - I prioritise the main board and it seems to work well for me, as I've won 27 times in the past 4 months including some 'medium' awesome prizes, such as £100 Tesco Gift Card, hotel stay and event tickets.

If the mag dailies/CTWs aren't working for you, why not take some time away from them and focus on other comps - including 'effort' ones, which take a bit more time but have less entries.

Hope you get some luck anyway! :)

Will edit post to take that into account.
Still either way never won from them.
