Google haven't made anything.
(Also, can't do links sorry = I can't be bothered to work out how to post links). Sorry for the outburst but it's really not difficult.

This sounds very dubious to me, it might apply to CRT screens but with an LCD the backlight stays on no matter what is being displayed.
I'm also amazed that the OP knows exactly how many watts my PC consumes.
I agree with this, with LCD screens its the back light that takes most of the power. For example, on my laptop, reducing the screen brightness can extend battery life for up to an extra hour. Displaying a picture that is mainly black has no effect on battery life.0 -

The simple way to post a link.
Type out the address of the website you are referring to as you would any other text i.e https://www.anywebsite.com
Or go to the website you want to link to, right click on the adress in your browser bar and click copy.
Write you post in the normal way, highlight a word you want to uses as a link, left click, and move over the text.
Click on the little world icon, ( the one with what looks like a paper clip on it ), and paste in the address you copied earlier.

There's a fair few more of them out there. I'm not convinced any of them are official Google, some of them clearly aren't. Worth using though perhaps.
Here's another one.

Yeah, cheers. I've had this argument with people before.
I can choose to be polite or rude. Pity some people can't choose to be intelligent.
It just annoys me that people say they can't do things on a computer, as if some people are just magically more knowledgeable than them.
No one is born knowing anything. I learnt how to use a computer by trying stuff out, not saying I can't! It seems that people think "I'm too old" or "I'm a woman" hence "I can't use computers", !!!!!!.
Sorry about the rant, and I don't mean to pick on miss_corerupted. Instead of saying I can't, why not actually try!0 -
i have tried b4 and i can never get these things to work, it's not because i'm a woman and i'm not old, so of instead of spending like to 20 mins to try and do it and get annoyed and frustrated, i just wrote it out.
i'm sorry i find somethings difficultI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammar

pity that tr3mor continues to "choose to be" RUDE.
Hardly admirable?
It does turn me off when people on the site are catty! No need really - though I recognise we all have our moments!0 -
As Testee posted earlier there's a lot of info on the WIKI page but a link to the following was the most telling:

Google have looked into it and the science is a bit dodgy. Stats of saving energy using black screen appear primarily on a CRT screen... now who to believe?!
