Comping - glad I do it!

So Tuesday night - Someone set fire to our rubbish bins after midnight - all four bins were on fire.
Luckily I was awake and on here doing comps and saw it within two or three minutes, although I am blaming myself as I had headphones in listening to music and wonder if I would have heard something sooner. The fire engine turned up in minutes - sadly though our gas metre caught on fire just as they turned up - caused a leak, the area had to be cordoned off, gas was hissing out - you could hear and smell it.
So around 1am they had to dig up a hole in the ground and cap the gas. Someone had gone from Bournemouth, to Boscombe to Southbourne to us in Christchurch doing these bin fires. It could have been much worse - the wall that was on fire was our bedroom walls - my sons bedroom is right above the gas metre. We were very lucky I was awake. Hope they catch the people -who I will refrain using swearing words about- who done it but I doubt it. Virgin just reinstalled the net thankfully - the wires had melted together, and again he said it was lucky the fire was stopped so quickly as the damage could have been worse . The gas is back on now, just a big pile of guttering thats melted hanging down, clean the walls and the council need to clean up the mess that four melted rubbish bins that have melted into the ground, gas people needs to fill the massive hole in the ground. What a mess. Everything was caught just in time.
Don't think my partner will complain the next time I say I want to stay up because I can't sleep and do comps!!!

So pleased you are ok - I must admit, I am always up at the break of dawn and often hear groups of young lads or lasses going passed at 3/4 or even 5am on a Saturday or Sunday morning! I always peep from behind the curtains to make sure they are not up to no good! So many weirdos around these days!
Setting fire to bins so close houses though! What were they thinking! These people obviously never think of the consequences! What if you had been sleeping or out, your house could have set on fire!Hope they get caught! Keep us informed (hug)
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0
