I'm physically located in Sussex (Gatwick is my nearest aiport) and am looking to go to Palau. I'm extremely flexible with timing, can leave anytime from mid-August onwards and am looking to stay for roughly two months. I don't care how long it takes to get there - the most important factor is price. Below is the best flight I've found so far:

    The Quote itself: £1249
Who the quote is from: CheapTickets.com via Kayak.
Is there a booking fee: Included.
The Tour Operator/Airline/Hotel: Emirates & Continental Micronesia.
    The departure Airport/Post: Gatwick
    Holiday Destination : Airai (Palau)
The Holiday Dates: Thu Sep 23 2010 to Fri Oct 29 2010.
The number of people travelling (inc kids ages): 1 adult

Not going to PM as it's some general advice. I've helped a friend get flights to Palau a couple of years ago (!!!!!! didn't go in the end!).

The best way of getting cheap flights is to work backwards - who flies there (look at Palau Airport on Wiki). It's mainly charters - but - Continental flies from Manila 1xweekly for £400 return, China Airlines flies 2xweekly for about £580. Then work on getting to these destinations - Manila can be £450 quite often - so thats a £400 saving.

Make sure you leave plenty of connecting times (maybe even an overnight) if there is only 1 x flight a week. Contact China Airlines directly for a throughfare (note - Palau flights do not connect with their LHR flights - will they offer free or cheap stopovers in Taiwan?). Similarly Asiana Airlines flights (via Seoul) are charters only - so call the airline directly in the UK.

Edit - Should be the 30th of November for our departure, sorry for the typo!

Sandals are currently doing a 2 for 1 offer - go to beach escapes
