Scottjack's reduction in debt free date tip!

Worked out my own state of affairs for snowballing and put it all into www.whatsthecost.co.uk a while ago but wasn't too sure about the APR rates on two of cards so just put my estimate in there.

Having just rang Lloyds and Virgin I've just managed to knock 3 MONTHS off my DFD!

Virgin have reduced my APR from 29 to 22.9 (Still high but I've got to keep it at that for now) and Lloyds I had down at 29 is actually 14%.

Give them a call and ask for a reduction, no harm in trying!

  • I concur!!!

I managed to get MBNA to reduce the rate on my cc from 14.9% to 11.9% and then down further to it's current 7.9%! All I did was say I was planning to move to another card and I think both times I had a balance on it too!

And Barclaycard also reduced the rate from 14.9 to 11.9 when i threatened to leave them, however then I think the balance was nil.

So CALL AND TRY YOUR LUCK PEOPLE - IT CAN'T HURT ;-)
