Holiday pay

I know I've asked the question before and I did address my employer about it but the reply is still the same ....she says she cannot afford to pay full holiday plus pay someone to cover!!

Situation.....I work ie., 8 hours on a Monday, but when on annual leave only get paid for 3 hours, this also goes for other days of the week, most days I work between 4 and 8 hours.

Is there anywhere that this can be reported to? surely its illegal?

If she can't afford to look after her staff then she shouldn't be trading, time to look for a new job.

Can you just confirm that your contract requires you to work 3.5 hours a day but that in practice you generally work more?

It is important to know that because if your contract is for 3.5 hours that is the rate at which any holiday should be paid.

If your contract is to work 3.5 hours one day but more hours on other days, then the calculation will be different.

You do have written information about your employment, don't you? That would include the name of your employer, your job title, pay, etc. (Note that it doesn't have to be signed by anyone, just needs to have been given to you within two months of the start of your employment.)

You need to remind your employer that by law you are entitled to a minimum of 140 hours paid holiday and its going to take 47 days at the rate it's going for you to get your due amount.
