Yeah the broker is saying Tuesday as the money will be with the solicitor by 2pm, worried it won't happen after today!

I am a little surprised by the comments provided. I work with Halifax on a regular basis and funds not arriving on the day of completion has never happened.

Providing the solicitor sent in the COT (Certificate on Title) requesting funds for the Friday any last minute documentation requests would be directed to the broker.

I find it odd that documents could be outstanding prior to completion and neither the broker nor Halifax completions department aware of it.

If Halifax can evidence their request to the broker for these documents then perhaps the issue is with him or her. If they cannot evidence they have requested these documents from the broker then perhaps the issue is indeed with Halifax.

In either case, if the solicitor has requested the COT correctly its unlikely to be his fault.

Thanks for your feedback. I've found out the broker we were dealing with has left the company so it sounds as if he was contacted with the request and his emails were not monitored. Would you say that sounds correct?

If that's what the lender has told your broker then I'm sure you will be fine. :)

    HI

hope it goes well for Tuesday. This happened to us too. We loaded up the van and thought we'd better check with the solicitors again and hey presto the FTB's lender didn't have a direct debit signed. He was travelling back to the UK. We had a 9 month old baby.

We loaded all our goods back into our garage and lived with my dad.

We had to hire a van every day until we knew we could move and eventually moved on the Wednesday.

This is the main reason I will never complete on a Friday again.

Everything will work out for the best, you are living at your parents so have somewhere to live and in years to come it will become a tale to tell your baby and friends.

    Good luck xxx

Thanks for the replies, yeah I do believe it will happen on Tuesday :-)

We've got to wait outside the house 8-11am to take delivery of our washing machine as we thought 4 days later was a safe delivery day, how wrong we were.

We've then got to go back home until completion and load up the van to go back again, pain in the !!!!
