Okay so completion day was today, it hasn't happened as Halifax didn't transfer the funds.
No one has any idea of why other than Halifax mentioned it's due to the MMR, why wait until completion day to say something then? That's disgusting, we're now left homeless on a bank holiday weekend with a 1 year old...thanks Halifax, thanks a lot.
Anyone else had this issue?

The solicitor I use usually requests funds to be in their bank a day or 2 before completion. OK it costs an extra da y or 2s worth of interest but it avoids things like this happening.
Why has your solicitor left it until the last minute?
Its not even 3pm. Did you go via a broker? can you not ask them to call in a favour and pull a few strings?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The solictor requested the funds earlier in the week and today they just didn't arrive.
I've checked and Halifax requested July's payslips (we got our offer in March) and no one is taking the blame for not requesting them, we weren't made aware of the request. On top of this, why didn't Halifax, a bank, chase this up? 1 request without sa reply and they leave it until someone says where is the money then?
Luckily Redrow are okay with it, they have said it's not our fault so not to worry and they sales consultant is coming in on her day off to give us the keys if it happens after their office closes with a site meeting. Which is fantastic service in my eyes.
The broker have contacted Halifax who said sorry we can't override MMR requests, which is a shame. I don't mind the request as we have nothing to hide, what I do mind is everyone sitting on their hands and leave us having to live with parents and all our crap for 3 days in a small house with a baby. The solicitor I use usually requests funds to be in their bank a day or 2 before completion. Who requested the payslips?
What address did they go to?
Were they received?
This is where it went wrong: system says they were waiting for these, you never supplied them .... so who didn't ask you for them? Why did your solicitor not spot your mortgage offer was "good to go?"
If Halifax asked for them, they'll have been waiting for a response. Once they were happy to proceed the mortgage would have been approved and there'd have been a formal offer..... which would have gone to you/your solicitor? Does somebody have that paperwork? The solicitor would have needed to see it before exchanging.0 -
The mortgage offer was in March, a formal offer. They requested these pay slips as part of the MMR they said.
Basically someone in the chain has royally screwed up and isn't going to admit to it.0 -
This is shocking. If mortgage offers were issued pre MMR then any relevant checks must be done after they came into force. I understand your anger. Your solicitor should also shoulder some blame. The funds should have been with him 2 days ago and if they weren't he should have been asking questions earlier.0

I agree about the solicitor which explains why he was saying Halifax have caused you big problems and you should complain.
I didn't think MMR would affect us like you've said, Halifax shouldn't request them on the day. (I've just been told they requested them today)0 -
Simply not acceptable from the lender or solicitor. Unless your solicitor only made the funds request today. It then leaves you no chance to rectify.0

Has anything changed since the offer was issued?
This sounds like there has been a "material change" which is why Halifax have asked for upto date payslips, if this was the case, your broker should have been on top of this.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
