DrydensFairfax & Student Loan

I will try to make this long story as brief a s possible

I took out student loans in '93 '94 '95 for around £4,800

I always deferred during the 90's. Then in 2008 I was declared bankrupt by a creditor (not SLC)

Since then and learning a lot of lessons I have been keeping my head above water (just) and have remained debt free since.

Then out of the blue I get contacted by letter from Drydens Fairfax Solicitors Debt Collectors.

Briefly their letter states that they want me to start paying this off in installments or in full, and also that SLC obtained a CCJ in 2005, I have no recollection of this.

I am looking for advice on the best way to proceed with this.

Things I am thinking of at the moment are:

1. As its an old mortgage type SL is this not statute barred now after 20years ?

2. I understand from google that after 6 years a CCJ is almost impossible to enforce and they will have to go back to court, true ?

3. I know students loans are protected in bankruptcy, but as this has been sold on, is there anything in bankruptcy laws that now prevents recovery.

I have had absolutely no contact with SLC or any Debt Collector regarding this for many many years.

So far i am ignoring this (memories of the bad old days there) they have contacted me twice, with the last one wanting me to complete an incoming/outgoings sheet.

All helpful comments will be much appreciated.
