I'm a recent convert to using this dental tape:

http://www.oralb.co.uk/en-GB/productdetail/oral-b-pro-expert-premium-floss/

I used to use dental floss but hate it when it frays and fibres get stuck between my teeth.:p Dental tape is so much easier to use, it glides and doesn't snag or fray.

To complicate matters, it's described as floss on the product packaging but it looks like flat white tape.

It might be more expensive than floss but if it keeps my gums healthy and expensive/painful dental work at bay...........it's well worth it.:D

I think this stuff is fantastic! I can't afford to buy the interdental brushes and I worry about using floss as I seem to have a habit of dislodging fillings and caps which worries me but this stuff is excellent as I can use it without the same worries.

I would add that if you do go looking for a cheaper alternative of the tape you mentioned, don't bother with supermarket types as IME they are just a thinner version of the fabric/stringy types you have had issues with.

This stuff is fantastic. I used to massacre my gums using normal floss (or cheesewire as I call it), but even I can manage to use this stuff.
