    Prize:

There is one prize consisting of a cheque, which will be the value of the winner's mortgage or actual rent on their main UK residence for a period of two years up to the maximum value of £30,000 (thirty thousand pounds) ("the mortgage/rent payment") plus the sum of £20,000 (twenty thousand pounds). The winner’s most recent monthly mortgage/rent payment will be multiplied by 24 to calculate the two-year figure. The prize is subject to the terms and conditions set out below:

Entrants must have an existing mortgage in accordance with a valid written mortgage agreement in respect of their main residence located in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man or be paying rent in accordance with a valid written tenancy agreement in respect of a property located in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man and have made all payments due at the time of entering the Prize Draw. The Promoter will not pay any mortgage arrears or unpaid rent existing at the time of entering into the Prize Draw.

Payments will be calculated by the Promoter based on the winner’s existing monthly payments at the time of entering the Prize Draw, and will include the following elements:

    a) capital repayments; and/or

    b) interest charges on the mortgage; and/or

    c) payments of premiums due in respect of an endowment or similar insurance policy directly linked to the mortgage; and/or

    d) the monthly rent payment as specified in the winner’s tenancy agreement. Where payments are weekly, the Promoter will make the appropriate re-calculation.

The Promoter shall require documentary evidence of any such mortgage or rent existing payments e.g. mortgage statements, bank statements, rent books, etc. In the event that the winner is unable to provide the Promoter with such evidence to the Promoter’s satisfaction, the Promoter shall be entitled to disqualify the winner from winning the mortgage payment element of the prize. In the event that the winner’s mortgage or rent payments are not as described above (e.g. a current account mortgage such as a ‘Virgin One’), or if the winner’s mortgage or rental arrangements are not clearly identifiable from a mortgage agreement or tenancy agreement, then the Promoter shall decide in its sole discretion the amount to be paid to the winner based on any other evidence of mortgage or rent payments that can be given by the winner.

I wonder one thing... My rent is now £840/month and its definitely going up to £1000 from October. Competition rules would mean they only will multiply £840 x 24 months = £20160. Still not bad at all, although it would mean that me, or anyone that does not pay the full £30,000 for two years mortgage/rent will 'lose out' on a big portion of this element of the prize. They should do their calculations and pay the reminder to the winner, adding to the 20k already in the POT... :)
This is quite cleverly done by ITV, as some people might actually pay very little money for mortage/rent - say £5k/year x 2 = £10k. A saving of 20k for them.
2014 Wins: a personalised razor, 1x Cushelle Koala :), Sony micro Bluetooth earphones, Tastecard for 2 months....

...Good luck to all! :-) Thumbs up and Thanks to all those posting comps on MSE and beyond!! :T

I own my own house outright - so don't pay rent and I don't have a mortgage.
So if I won - ITV would save themselves £30,000 as in their words "the Promoter shall be entitled to disqualify the winner from winning the mortgage payment element of the prize"

But I would be quite happy to receive a cheque for £20,000

Obviously... it would be a rather NICE touch to get a 20k cheque :-)
Almost as nice as its to own a house outright, Daza :D
