:hello: Hello lovely DFWers,
I became debt free a couple of years ago (hurrah!) and myself and DH decided to start saving for a house deposit. We were living in a little flat in a pretty awful part of town to save money and, for a little while, were able to make some good savings.
Since then however we've had our wonderful daughter, who just managed to sneak in a matter of days before I'd have been entitled to enhanced occupational maternity pay :rotfl: As a result I'm currently on SMP only and have taken a big cut in wages.
To add to this, we moved house a couple of months ago as where we were living just wasn't good for raising a LO (I got abused while walking down the street with a pram - complete strangers, no reason!) Our new house is lovely, but the rent is double what we were paying so our budget is really tight.
On top of all that our car was broken into while we were moving and a number of expensive items that were being transported were stolen
Soooo, all that was a very longwinded way of saying - WE'RE IN DEBT AGAIN! :eek::eek::eek:
I really want to get on top of this as it started having a negative effect on my mental health before, and now I have DD to look after as well as myself and DH. So, *deep breath* here it is:
My overdraft: £1000
DH overdraft: £500
CC1: £2800
CC2: £850
CC3: £1000
CC4 £175
Car loan: £1200
Total = £7525
Well, adding up all those debts has made me pretty sad, but I can't stay low for long with this little monkey around
