Magazine Instant Wins?

Options
I was just curious as to whether anyone has ever won anything on the Instant Win competitions on magazine sites like What's on TV?

They give you a random set of 3 numbers, which have to match the generated numbers. I gave up doing them, but has anyone actually won one before?

Pretty much a resounding no. I think if you search on IWIWIW you may find one or two winners from a couple of years back, but I certainly don't recall anyone announcing a win on them in the 2 years or so I've been comping here. Contrast that with the prize draws where we always seem to have at least a few MSE winners a week!

Thanks cagsd, I did start to do them when I started comping a few weeks ago, but have pretty much given up now, although I have the odd go on them :D

Contrary to this statement, the "odd go" has turned into an obsession now. I'm now entering any instant win competitions on the magazine websites .

The chances of winning are very low, but I'm still hoping, I'll let everyone know how it goes

They ran one a while ago for a Mini and the odds were over 45 million to one and a £1,000 cash prize had odds of over 3.2 million to one so the chances of winning are minute.
With most other instant win or draws the prizes are won but if no one matches the combination on these by the close date no prize is awarded.
This enables them to offer more prizes within their budget than they could otherwise do knowing that only a small number of them will be won (they may have prize indemnity insurance to cover themselves so they can operate with fixed costs anyway).

    Never.

    Generally don't bother with them.

I suppose they're ok if you've done everything you have to do that day and it's a choice between Instant Wins and having your eyelashes pulled out one by one with red hot tweezers. And even then............. :):)
