The up's and downs off my life

A bit about me

I'm 31 and have two young lovely daughters and a pain in the butt husband :rotfl:

I started a diary at the beginning off the year, concentrating on my debt. This really helped me put a big dent in what I owe. I'm now starting a new diary, still continuing to reduce my debts but also bringing in other aspects of my life. Taking a new step to improve and live a better life.

My health

I was diagnosed with diabetics whilst pregnant, this has failed to go away and I'm struggling to look after myself and manage it. I have unable to establish a routine eating wise and forget to take injections and check blood sugars. Moving on I need to look after myself. I'm also behind with all my appointments and need to get back on track. I struggle attending due to lack off childcare are and the demands off my job.

My debt

Loan - just under £500. This has had a massive hit this year and now at a manageable level. Moving onwards I will only have small amounts payable so these will be going towards c/c as easier to pay, as if I try and hold to enough to pay off loan I will properly spend. However this will be paid this year just through normal payments

Holiday - ok not a debt as pre-paying. But only one more payment to go and done. This will be the first time I've actually paid for it and not put on c/c :T

Credit card - £1880 to go. Currently on 0%. All eBay sales, money found and tips will be going towards this. Will be paying £10 off every time I earn it

my mental health

I don't sleep. I get upset a lot and generally feel down. I will not take any medication. However I want to improve things and looks for means to make me feel better. Hopefully controlling the diabetics will help.

smoking

This is a big one. I'm now smoking 30 a day, it's got way out off hand. I think it's due to lack off sleep and being depressed. From tomorrow I'm making a note off exactly how many smoking and make a big effort to reduce. I need to quit but need to cut back first.

Going forward

From tomorrow I will be writing daily off my up and downs on improving my life and reducing the debts. They go hand in hand for me.

Hopefully now I'll be able to sleep :)

Here's too tomorrow xx

    The day so far

Ok so I'm up and dressed and so are the children. I'm going to update the page as I go along today, to help keep me motivated and on track. Better start with having breakfast and insulin. However no test strips left so will see if sister will borrow me hers.

My head is soo spinning with the things I want to do that I'm not getting anything done lol may need to set up some sort of checklist

    Diabetics

8pm Sugars 15.2 had breakfast and insulin :)

Debt scrimping those pennies to pay off c/c . Make a payment at every £10

Starting with £4.66 in jar and £4 off bagged pennies (£8.66)

18p found o/h pocket. 1p found under bed

Well in for starting your diary. Funnily enough I've started to make little daily lists in my diary (completely out of the blue) but its definitely helping me to focus. Keep going with it - its there in black and white what needs to be done in tiny manageable steps.
I hope over the next few days and weeks, as you get into your routine, you start to understand that, although you think the world of your family, you must put your own health needs right at the top of your 'to-do' list. Take care of YOU first and you're in a much better shape to look after everyone else too.

So make sure, as you have done today, that you absolutely put your insulin levels and meds at the top of your list - at breakfast is clearly a good time for you to sort this, no bother. The incentive may be to then make an appointment at the docs for a good check up, make sure you have all you need in (eg test strips) and then away you go - another item to tick off the list!

Alright - enough from me. Sorry if I sound like Im having a go - just wishing you all the luck in the world but you know you'll do it missis!!
