Teeth Whitening Products

Options
Hi,

I would like to ask if anyone has any experience of teeth whitening kits that actually work and that won't break the bank as professional whitening would cost too much for me.

Thank you in advance

    Then don't bother.

Anything you can legally buy doesn't have enough active ingredient in it to do anything.

You can buy stuff illegally - but this is your teeth you're talking about. The product will either be useless, or dangerous. Do you really want to risk it?

If you can't afford to get a dentist to do it (Which is the only legal way to get it done) Then save up, and put it off until you can.

The bills to put right damage done by something or someone dangerous 'having a go' will far exceed the cost of getting it done properly in the first place.

If whitening at the dentist is too dear - then start off with a hygienist appointment. Just a really good professional clean will really make a difference.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

I would suggest anyone reading this take a recommendation from a brand new poster with a large pinch of salt.

I really think you're best to save up and get your dentist to do it.

  • I use Eucryl toothpowder as its excellent and cheap.
My teeth were badly stained from red wine and coffee/tea and I couldn't afford the dentist's whitening treatment - one of my students told me about it - I thought eucryl was a smokers toothpaste, and as a non smoker I never entertained the idea of using something like that, but it works perfectly well and my teeth feel very clean too - my last check up was the first time id not had a scrape either.

Eucryl has one of the highest abrasive indexes of anything on the market. It wears the stain away and what grinds stain away will also wear enamel away. It also has no fluoride in it.

Personally speaking the only thing I would use it for is cleaning bathroom grouting as it is far too harsh to use on teeth regularly.
