Monetise a few hundred DVDs

Options
I have a few hundred DVDs (Movies and TV series boxsets) (most are used - a few are still in cling film) which I am trying to dispose off. I am wondering what would be the most profitable way to sell them?

Amazon, eBay, Music Magpie, car boot sale. All have been used by posters on these boards with varying results

I tend to use Music Magpie. If you key in the codes they give you a valuation before you commit with them.

Some of the more recent posters aren't that impressed with MM.

... and then, when you send them in, it seems that MM will claim that some were 'missing from the package', that still-sealed items were 'damaged', etc etc.

    see the thread above.
  • The MOST profitable way I've ever found of selling my old DVDs (and CDs) is as part of a boot fair - £1 each (£2 - £3 for box sets). I tend to save all mine up and sell them when we do a stall during the summer. Last year there were only about a dozen we didn't manage to sell at those prices and we sold them off at 50p each at the end.

So, wait until you're doing one (the pitch will cost you) or do it jointly with someone-else.

However, if they're brand new and still in wrapping, I'd also try selling them via eBay or Amazon, etc.
