Robinson Way 'overpayment'

Hi, I'm very new here so hope I'm posting in the right place. Apologies if I am not. I have received a letter today (in my maiden name and sent to my parents' house) from Robinson Way, claiming I may have made an overpayment on an old debt. They state that the account in question has been fully paid for some time, and that an audit has shown a possible overpayment. I don't believe the account was settled in full, since I have used a debt management company & am still paying various debts off. Has anyone else had a letter like this, and is it true? I'm reluctant to contact them if it is simply a tool to start sending many more letters to my parents house threatening all sorts like they did before. The letter also states in small print that in November 2012 Robinson Way was acquired by Hoist Group, but Robinson Way still manage the account. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, you are the second person I've heard on this week with the exact same question. From that story, it was possible that an overpayment had happened, but since this is the second similarly worded letter, I would tend to be cautious if you do reply. My suggestion is to reply via email using a disposable address and see what happens. It is of course, perfectly possible that they are telling the truth, but then, I get emails, texts and phonecalls every week all promising that I am 'due' PPI and other charges from loans and credit cards I have never had....Debt Free! Long road, but we did it
