Food that doesn't require chewing

I tripped over at the weekend and landed flat on my face
. Aside from cuts, bruises and a split lip, I knocked one of my front teeth and had to visit the dentist where I was told I had fractured it (I didn't know you could fracture a tooth, but anyway...). The dentist said that I have to drink through a straw for the next fortnight and to only eat soup. I cannot stand soup so I am trying to come up with some alternatives that don't require chewing and could do with some suggestions. So far I have come up with porridge, baked beans (I never chew these) and possibly those pasta Mug Shots (I'm not keen on them normally but I know they are soft). Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks in advance

When I had my wisdom teeth out, I lived off scrambled eggs and yogurt.0

My uncle had a car crash years ago and had to have surgery to his jaw afterwards - everything had to be blended for about two months! I know with him the problem was that everything became such an effort to eat, so he did lose some weight. If one can afford to lose weight, all well and good, but some people can't and you might think about some of those Complan type drinks to make sure you are getting enough calories - or protein drinks perhaps. Good luck - sounds painful xDecember GC: £3500

I lived off yoghurt when I had my tooth out. (Dairy free in my case)Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0

Thanks for all the replies and good wishes - it is flipping painful to say the least and I am feeling a bit sorry for myself, as well as feeling a bit of a twit! Will definitely give these ideas a go.0

Think of baby food. Puree/process the food that you normally eat. Might not look as good, but will taste just fine. My heart goes out to you, found myself in a similar situation a while back, and it wasn't pleasant, especially the dentist's bill!0

Taking a notepad & pen to ease communication (& jot down good ideas), try the health food/body builder protein powder etc shops.
Unless you do not want to leave the house, at which point use a mix of supermarket online & variouys gym forums to get hot & cold drinks that pack a serious restorative wallop.
If you have not already got a stick blender, it's a joy for chopping down. The full roast dinner doesn't look anything like it once pureed, buit it still tastes glorious!
