whole point in life is to enjoy it how you want to for me its just getting that balance of having a few nice things and still paying them bills and OPing the mortgage :]
if it makes you feel any better my old mans sky bill is £100 a month lolMortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

Why have I never considered paying for a bank account before?! OK I pay for S123 but I've just been looking at what cashback/interest I have had on that in the year I've had the account, and I will probably ditch it when the fee goes up. I've just discovered the N'tionwide flexplu$ account that is £10 a month BUT you get 3% interest up to £2500 (perfect as my float is generally about that) and for your tenner you get breakdown cover, mobile phone cover and travel insurance. The breakdown cover alone is worth it - I have to have a fairly high breakdown cover as part of the requirement of my car allowance from work. I've just looked at what it would be to switch to the AA for the cover I need (cover is up in a couple of months) and it'd be £205 and then £78 cashback from £co so £127 assuming the cashback pays out ok. Or £120 a year for the bank account. It's a no brainer!0

gah, n@tionwide have caught on to me, £2499.59 on my interest free overdraft is being recalled in 2 weeks. I've got the money - it's sitting in S123 earning interest, so I can afford pay it off. oh well! It saved me 6 months of interest on my loan (4.9%) and earned me 3% at the same time still a win0

Roll on payday, I love updating my spreadsheet (don't we all!).
Good news on the bathroom front, my wonderful Dad has offered to fit it for us - so our labour costs are now just paying his travel to get here (he lives in France) and feeding himand bonus, my DS is very excited that his Grandad is coming to stay

After so many years of renting (magnolia everywhere!) both OH and I are all about the bright colours for decorating. Our wall tiles are going to be a light colour (maybe pale grey?) and some of this for a splash of colour
Got Tesco vouchers to swap for T0pps Tiles vouchers so bit of moneysaving there :money:0 -
Woohoo money shuffle time!
Debt is now £2498.13 which I am VERY happy about! I've just had a look back and we started 20 months ago at £13783.78 - total paid off so far £11285.65. Not bad going when we've also paid £12k of mortgage and £14.8k nursery bills during that period and only one wage for 5 months. :j:j:j
OH's car has just cost £170 for the MOT but we have a maintenance pot so the money is waiting. Now I just need to get him to sell the bloomin thing. It's sat unused since April, he doesn't seem to understand that it's costing us money sat outside - we could have cancelled the insurance and tax, to the tune of an equivalent £75 a month so far!!! So frustrating that he doesn't understand (nor care it feels sometimes) how wasteful that is.0 -
iv gone from magnolia to white and white is so much nicer ok it may mark easier but thats life :]
That is a great difference from 20 months ago well done
cars can be a pain but we cant survive without them so well worth the 170 to sort her out :]Mortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

our living room and hall/stairs/landing is orange (bright), yellow (bright) and white. The bedroom is rainbow (yes really). The kitchen is purple (bright). This is our kitchen floor at the mo. Totally all about the bright colours0

thing is, we don't need the car. we only got it because at the time OH's job was a nightmare to get to on public transport - since the current job (April) the car has been used maybe 3 or 4 times, and that's only because I've reminded him to give it a run to keep the battery going! It needs to go, and it's driving me bonkers that it is sitting there costing us money every bloomin day.0
