I write down all the details for every jobs I apply for and in the last two weeks I filled in 5 sheets (15 jobs on each sheet)
When I have run out of sheets I have used A4 paper and marked on the same headings.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Fill in the booklet how you like, if you need a page a day then do a page a day.
Some people use it for generic planning and then the old style booklets for jobs applied for.
They are pants to be honest.0 -
my handwriting is not too hot, at the best of times. over an hour wasted copying from my own info.
seems my neatly printed list of applications / searches / enquiries wasn't acceptable, last time.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

There is no legal rule to state how you must provide your jobsearch, provided you can provide evidence of your jobsearch and if necessary prove of all job applications it can be written on a loo roll.
Write down the dates and site you use, jot down job applications and if you have e-mails on your phone you can show that too. If an adviser isn't happy with your plan ask then to show you where you are legally obliged to fill it in? As long as you are fulfilling you clamant commitment you are fine. If there are any doubts ablout your steps it the evidence you provide that is referred to a decision maker.0 -
The My Work Plan is not mandatory in any way, it does not need to be signed or filled in if the claimant does not wish to do so:
Original Freedom of Information request and extract from DWP response:
"Claimants may also be asked to sign the ‘My statement’ section of the My Work Plan booklet to confirm they understand and agree with their requirements to look for work. However this is not mandatory."

Original Freedom of Information request and extract from DWP response:
"Completion of the My Work Plan booklet is not a condition of Jobseekers Allowance or Universal Credit. Completion can be refused without sanctions."

"can show" being relevant, there is no mandation for claimants to show any solid evidence, uncorroborated written evidence is sufficient to fulfill a Jobseeker's obligations.
Original FOI request and an extract from the DWP response:
"190. The evidence of jobsearch produced when they attend to have their regular reviews may be in various forms:- information they have provided from their Universal Jobmatch account;
- evidence in writing from employers, employ ment agencies, or other organisations which they have contacted;
- copies of letters they have sent to employers;
- the claimant’s un-corroborated written evidence, for example an ES4;
- the claimant’s verbal evidence
- evidence from previous Jobsearch Reviews recorded on LMS."

Why do you have to pepper all your posts with "lols", as if to try and lighten the tone of your posts?
To answer the Op's original question, I was given the two week planning and action booklet only when initially signing on to JSA at the end of December last year. Think it depends on the individual jobcentre as to what you are given.
I suppose if I had asked for the other type of booklet, I would have been given it, or maybe they don;t stock them at my local Jobcentre.
In any case, I write down a record of the jobs I apply for on a Open Office document. I also complete the booklet, giving them examples of the jobs I have applied for (including Universal Jobsearch reference number). Don;t give them all the jobs I have applied for - as it would leave no space fopr other thinks I have done - eg: contact recruitment consultants, attend interviews, etc.0 -

The lol was sheer laughter from the stupidity and narrow mindedness coming from a lot of people that aren't employed yet find hours on end to discuss the very state department setup to help them. I find it utterly incredulous.whinge intr.v. whinged, whing·ing, whing·es Chiefly British To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.0
