Hello I've won a competition on twitter but received this email....
To claim your prize, please send an email and please provide me with the following details:
1)PICTURE OF FORMAL ID (e.g Passport, licence, birth certificate) Please attach a scanned or photographed copy of a formal ID confirming you are 14 years of age or over. As stated in the Ts & Cs this is required to claim your prize.
We will need to see your full name and date of birth only. Please block out any information that you do not wish us to see.
2) FULL NAME
3)POST ADDRESS and TELEPHONE NUMBER
4) TWITTER/ INSTAGRAM USERNAME (If applicable)
is this normal or dodgy?

It depends on who you've won with / what you've won?
Some companies (e.g. Quizonaut) ask for ID every time, others just for big / 18+ wins...0 -
Is it a prize of alcohol, or a knife set or something?
Does it say in the t&c that you need to do this?
I've won a case of cider before, and had to scan my driving licence to them to claim. Just to prove I was old enough.
HthCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
I had to do the same when I won a bottle of wine and a cheque xxx:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

Some do ask even for very small prizes.
If it is a verified twitter account, reasonable sized company and a good prize I would probably risk it as you can block unnecessary info out as well.0 -

Yes, perfume shop always ask for ID. I've won twice with them and both times I've scanned my passport with the numbers across the bottom blanked out0
