Weird Runner up prizes

Hi guys,

I've recently had a couple of 'runner up' prizes from Chic Events where they offer me event tickets but ask that I pay accommodation - its for their HRH Blues and HRH Road Trip events.

Its not something I'm interested in, but I was wondering if anybody else has received these. I'm guessing they send these out to most of the mailing list due to the chances of this happening is pretty slim.

There is a thread on the I won forum on this very subject. Lots of people reporting the same email. Also I recall one a while back that was for a rock festival in Wales lots of similar "runners up" prizes to basically everyone that entered. Looks to me like they do this to fill up their events!!!

I have had a call and email telling me I have won a runners up prize. I just need to pay £10 and flights. I have declined their offer.

Just to confirm, You have won 3 days accommodation @ The Brisa Hotel for 2 people plus event passes!!! All that is payable to claim the 3 nights is the £10 per person booking fee.

This years HRH Road Trip takes place between Wednesday 14th May and Wednesday 21st May and you can choose any three days that you prefer, however, if you want to make a bigger holiday out of it and escape the extreme weather in the UK for the glorious Ibiza sunshine, then we can upgrade you at cost for extra nights which will include entrance into the other evenings free within the extra nights accommodation charge.
