I have noticed that the magazines such as Womens own, Womens weekly, Womens mag., Look, Now, Pickmeup, Chat magazines have spreaded their daily prize draw competitions all over these magazines. It seems that it significantly reduce the chances of winning. Have any of you have won and how often since they starting spreading the prizes? if so, do you enter every day and for the same prize from all the magazines? I would like to know about decent value prizes like gift cards etc.

I've only had one win off the mags since they started sharing the prizes (that was just about a year ago if I recall correctly)
My prize was a picnic hamper with juices etc.

I always do the mag dailies every single day from every mag. I don't enter every draw - only for prizes I'm interested in - so for those with 25 entries allowed it can be anything between 4 and 20 comps on each site.

People certainly do win them, I've seen lots of winners on IWIWIW, but I'm unfortunately just not one of the lucky ones - yet!
  • I'm not sure it reduces your chances of winning - they are usually spread across 7 sites and it just means everyone is having to enter 7 times per day instead of once per day

I won a picnic basket/allergy stuff prize late summer, that was one spread across the mags.

I've won a couple of smaller spread ones, but there was more than one prize of those.

I enter every day, but only for those prizes I'd use.

I suspect you have a better chance of winning with a prize that's likely to be less popular, or of smaller value.

I used to win loads before they started spreading the comps & by august last year I hadn't won anything from these mags so gave up on them - In December I won twice from the non sharing mags (who my previous last wins were from)

Sorry what do you mean by "non sharing mags"?

there are (I think - at last count) 16 mags that run daily comps.
Of these, 7 have a shared prize fund - Chat, Now, Pick Me Up, What's ON TV, Woman, Woman's Weekly, Woman's Own.
So you are entering 7 times a day for the one prize really.
they never used to be run this way, it only started about this time last year.

The other mags such as Look, Instyle, Marie Claire etc etc don't share prizes, they all run their own comps.

Oh and, to the best of my knowledge, the mags within the Hearst Group (Best, Reveal, All About You etc) seem to run pretty much the same comps but don't share the prizes I don't think.
So in other words you could win one of 5 Rubber Sole vouchers with Best, one of another 5 with Reveal etc.
I hope I'm right on that score anyway.
  • I was going to ask if anyone had won with these mags recently. Several months ago, when they started getting posted to the main comp board (and I became aware of them), I asked if they were worth the effort, because they looked spammy to me. Several people said they'd won numerous times and yes they thought it was worth it.

I don't enter for a lot of things - just the odd thing I'd like to have (i.e. the fire pit), vouchers, or expensive stuff I could sell (i.e. tablets, TVs). But I'm starting to lose the will to live, entering these rubbishy-looking things every day LOL. At least they've stopped making you watch the commercials for now, which is a good thing.

What about the click-to-wins with Bella etc - does anyone reckon they're any easier to win? Maybe I could just focus on those.

Hi. Last year I think I won approx. 1 a month from the dailies so in my opinion they are worth it, however I do find them quite tedious sometimes so pick them up and put them down. Don't think I've won from the click to win comps yet though, but I always hope. Prizes inc. years supply of toothpaste, doughnuts and kitchen roll as well as undies and a family merlin pass!!
Haven't won any this year though but I still do them in the hope I haven't wore all my luck out.
    2012 wins:
May - baby show tix, 103 itunes downloads, June - gardeners world tix and meet alan titchmarsh, Mortal Chaos (book), Horse summer sheet, £50 Voucher

I'm hooked once again on comping, keep the wins coming please comping fairy
  • I've won
£50 Laura Ashey Voucher from a mag daily that was Dec
£500 gift voucher in a mag daily - waiting for that to arrive
    &
    A £50 P&G hamper from a click to win.

I agree, they are tedious but, as I've won a few things, I can't stop now because I'd be wondering what if.

    Good luck
