In defense (though not of myself) some people simply cannot make yorkshire and I grew up with many a sunday my parents trying to make yorkshires, neither of them ever succeeded and are still baffled and yet both are really great cooks!0

I'm afraid I have to join the ones who can't make it - I have tried, honest!

Maybe it's actually being shown how to do it by parents??!! I have Irish parents. Can't make Yorkshires but can make a mean bacon and cabbage!!!0 -

Like the fridge magnet

I've given up making them from scratch, I get the Savers ready mix which works out cheaper anyway!
Recipe = 1/2 pint of milk (about 15p), flour (few pence) cost of one egg
Mix = water costs nothing, mix costs 10p, cost of one egg
Definitely agree that you need very hot fat, we prefer meat dripping off the joint for extra artery clogging goodness.0 -
Def getting one of those for a friends' birthday! Thanks.0

Gonna try Curv's recipe for sure and I may chill it too and see what happens.
Here's to the best Yorkies ever!! I hope
